  1. I'm still testing slowerthanyou but as soon as race season is over I'll be posting somethings that has help and hurt me at the track. By the way ran a 3.67 1.32 80.7 this past weekend, there is more changes I would love to try but looks like I'll run out of time this year.
  2. I think it will still be a good race....
  3. I got him playing around with his clutch setup, it was running 70s then when into the clutch. Two weeks ago he went a .62 and .63
  4. There is a 4mill dm 78mm ran a 3.55 1.30 60ft 85.5 mph this pass Fri night at home track, tim at Titan racing did the motor. Bike weight 245lbs rider 105lbs
  5. 1st gear vs 2nd gear will always produce more torque to the tires, the question is can you control it, that's where the lockup tuning thread will learn you how to control it.
  6. .090 Here , I tested it at .110 just couldn't get a handle on it. So went back to .090
  7. I think its time to talk air gap....
  8. from looking at all the tnt and class races rdz Rob was more consistent out of the 425cc class.

    1/8 set up

Some guys put all that weight on the lockup because when its on the dyno its has to because of the load of the dyno. There is a guy I race with that runs 30 grams per arm, I don't have 30grams total on mine.

    1/8 set up

Any time you start playing with spring pressure you need to check your base pressure , because when you start playing with springs you need to know your change. Baseline, baseline guys!!!!!
  11. I have always ran my bike with me on it (210lbs) and could never compete with jocks, after crying( as they say) about weight limits I decided to go as light as possible with my cub. I always knew my bike had just as hp as other bike just couldn't show it. Now that I am getting this clutch thing down that makes it better. My plan is to go to Kentucky at the last race for the record. If I don't set record just as long as I'm faster than the next bike. Currie motor sports runs the same track I race, fastest his bike went 3.76 1.37 60ft fastest my bike went 3.69 1.304 60ft. my 60 ft results are from this topic... That's what's going to hurt these classes no weight limits, its not about spending 4 grand in a motor any more its about spending 8 grand on a frame setup. I'm not a builder, just the average Joe that's loves drag racing.
  12. good job, there is some good info here that's for sure. The rain has keep me from testing for the past two week(dang rain) I'm so ready to do more testing.
  13. There is no magic set pressure to run because bikes are so different from one to the other. One thing I will say is don't chase the track.
  14. Baseline what you have, make a change more or less pressure. Your 60ft will tell you which way to go
  15. Yea .69 & .71 1.304 & 1.308 60ft 80.5mph that was last weekend. Bike is 235lbs rider is 145lbs.
  16. 60ft wins races period ( Drag racing) Don't get me wrong you need to run mph too.
  17. Guys he is just offerings info here, he's not saying what you got doesn't work. He's just trying to give info to someone that might need it. I will say he open my eyes on the clutch set up. Tested this past Friday night gain a little more ET and it and it wasn't from mph
  18. the change that was made was all base pressure, week one testing was 3.84-3.86 1.37 60ft 79.1mph. Week 2 was 3.75-3.77 1.33 60ft 80.2mph. The bike is a 4mill cub, I'll keep my times updated as I test more
  19. Question, if you take the same bike with a 7 plate clutch, and go with a 8 plate setup will the 8 plate need less base pressure?
  20. ? For you, when racing dirt leaving in 2nd and the wheels are spining is the lockup locking as soon as it leaves and not relying on base pressure?
  21. Will more air gap allow more pressure or less pressure to the pressure plate? I was changing spring pressure but my shims was changing my air gap, just wondering about the air gap applying more or less pressure.
  22. If it for hard packed dirt we use to run turf tamers just cut every other line of knobs off.
