  1. Digitron, its a mph sensor I just use it for the clutch. Got it on the output shaft near the sprocket, it also reads rpm, get temp
  2. if it slips to much the lockup is not going to lock it up
  3. The lockup on dirt is lockup in the first 5ft-10ft
  4. yes, it had a faster acceleration
  5. the lift is the fight between the springs slipping and the lockup trying to lock it up
  6. change only one at a time, you can change spring pressure and arm weight but which one did what?
  7. Ok, let's talk about the first .4 seconds of the run (look at bottom of the screen) this is where the spring pressure(base pressure, installed height) is working with the lockup, but if ya look at .2 seconds that's all spring pressure. These passes are blue-24lbs pressure black-23lbs pressure red-22lbs pressure. So until you take a spring pressure gauge and measure your pressure your blowing in the wind with just guessing spring pressure. Any ?s feel free to ask
  8. I've seen this a few times at the track from other bikes. People might not be talking about the clutch but I bet they are reading it cause I see more bikes at tracks on one side with the clutch cover off. Thanks again Brian for all you have posted on here.
  9. How do you post pic and I'll put some up.
  10. I tested a Digitron this year, rpm, egt, and mph I just used mph to see what my clutch was doing, you can load your run to a labtop and see what it doing it reads .005 increments.
  11. Get a slower more constant bike to test against, set him out see how long it takes to catch him.
  12. I have always been a Dan hull fan the man dominated his classes for years, the rdz did what nobody did he ran #s with smaller size motors what bikes was running twice the size, then you start hearing about Jason menz, man this guy is just taking it to another level. I give props to all that make you say, we can go faster, I have talk to Menz and I'll tell you this, he is a straight up dude he does things that you would not even think of. I think both rdz and Menz deserve credit for what they have done..
  13. I have never ran sand but you can still control the tire, with out any timing system the only other option is to use someone as a guinepig( like a sparing partner) use him to see if you speed up or slow down. Another thing if the track is not there guys don't chase it, its like trying to hit a curve ball.
  14. One more thing and I'll hush... This is how I tell if you got a good handle on controlling the tire, most guys will slow the tire down with gear, just say my gear was 16/46 and I was on the line of it bogging but it control my tire from spinging.. Put a 15 on the front and see if you can slow it down knowing that to low of a gear and knowing its going to spin. Then you will start understanding the clutch... Make only one change, don't change you spring and lockup weight at one time.
  15. If you can change only 6lbs of spring pressure at a time. Don't worry about what et your running, just try to understand what your bike is telling you.
  16. The 140lbs spring pressure the bike ran 1.41 60ft 79mph 3.84 all I change on the clutch was spring pressure and went 1.38,1.36,1.34,1.32,1.30 60ft but that's about a 5 weeks of testing. If your going to get real aggressive my advise get extra sets of clutches.
  17. First thing that you need is like slowerthanyou stress's so much about is base line your set up, BASE PRESURE.. To me that's 70% of getting your 60ft down ( all this is dirt testing) I'll give a little more info, I started at 140lbs of spring pressure total last year and had stock lockup weigh I think 7grams per arm. That was my baseline,BUT my setup was 14inch swingarm 16stager on 10x12 rim 231lb bike 150lb rider best time with that was 1.302 60ft 80.5 mph 3.69. Ok then late into the year I got my bike down to 221lb and a rider 125lb and my best was 1.32 80.7 mph 3.67 all of this was on the same clutch setup, guess what I need a new base line, there's no doubt less weight goes faster but the biggest thing I say at the track control your tire from the dump of the clutch handle... Guys think of accelerating your bike, not spinning, not trying to wheelie your tires down the track.
  18. . I can make it to a couple races a year but you want to know why I chose not to!!! It was said on pro sand that for the guys wanting the weight limits to just race index or bracket race well if that's how they feel why not just race all the local tracks... I'm done with the whole weight thing any way...
  19. I'm all for a weight limit.. and I feel I can be competitive in my class.. my bike is 221lbs now and looking to be around 203lbs to 205lbs next year. I think its like beating a dead horse on this debate. I see history repeating its self....
  20. I ran them sat night and won then I lost to them sun.
  21. There's a few people asking me about people e.t. at the race, let me put it like this Shawn Nelson tested a on a Fri before going to Missouri race ran a .95 here ran a .91 there, same thing with the ky race ran a .07 here and a .06 there, with the right setup lumber river is a fast track just like Missouri and ky
  22. Sat night was a huge turn out, pr did there thing, great race for sure those rapturs were getting it done on both sides, thanks to all that made it, by far the largest east cost race to date.
