  1. I was on here asking the same question about 4 months ago, i was directed towards Kevin at HJR, hes a sponser on here, he did a hardcore port job done to match a new full set of pro circuit pipes, he got me an adj. timng plate, stock shaved head and man does it go!!! i was extremely happy with the power gains considering it was completely stock when i started.
  2. I had Kevin at HJR do a mx hardcore port job on my 99 and am extremely happy with the power gains and i do similar riding as you. I just told him what i had for pipes and he ported to pair them nicely and with +4 timing for added low end i am very happy with how it turned out. Give him a call!!
  3. well after the bolt breaks in half both pieces will be loose again because the tension is gone, but it only takes a thin bead of sealer maybe 1/8 in wide, thats what i used and still squeezed out of the sides
  4. ive got similar mods on mine, pipes, porting, air filter/ no lid, im right around 1000 for elev and my main jets are 330, pilots stock and it runs sweet!!
  5. My builder told me there really is no break in time just make sure and let it warm up for a while before rippin on it and you want to premix it to what ever you plan on running in the future
  6. I agree, Kevin does awesome work, thats all i do is woods, ditches, fields and the port job i got from him is AWESOME!!!
  7. yes, the flat side faces out with the slotted side in
  8. It really does not seem that free but I think I'll prob just get new bearing seal and billet gear. Is it worth the extra to get a billet impeller while I'm at it?
  9. I went to put in a new clutch kit today and found the water pump gear shredded. Any reasons this would happen or just worn out brittle gear?
  10. I would defenetly go with Kevin and HJR, i just got a fresh top end, adj. timing plate, crank and hradcore port job from him in and it is AWESOME! I would recommend him to anyoneand he gave me a great deal on everything and was able to answer all of my many questions. Go with Kevin you wont be disappointed!!!
  11. Just tipped on its end and drained out the exhaust then did about 3-4 oil changes on it no big deal, ran great ofter that!
  12. My little bro years ago was washing our grizzly and thought it would be a good idea to wash the inside of the muffler so he stuck the hose in and let it run for a few mins!!! it did the same thing....motor was unable to turn and just clicked. maybe just pull a drain plug and see if you see any white.

  15. ya that sounds easy enough, so i used to work at a cnc machine shop and although they don't do anything with engines, i figured I could ask them to shave the head some as long as its as easy as just taking some material off of the seal surface??, is that all it is and if so how much is a safe amount to take off??
  16. awesome, thanks for all your help guys! its my first time ever cracking the motor open on this thing and im just looking for something reliable but still with some decent power, i dont do anything crazy just screwing around at home!, thanks again!!
  17. thanks for the link, i m thinking about going with herr jugs, i heard some good things about them. im thinking about doing porting and the rebuild kit(bore, hone, pistons rings, etc) how important is porting, is there decent power gains?
  18. Awesome, and whats the best way to know who builds motors on here?? sorry as you can see im just starting out here
  19. Hey I need to put a new top end in my stock bike and trying to figure out which way to go. I found a few places that will bore the cyclinders and then send them back along with the whole kit. One place is $330 on ebay for wiseco pistons and all gasktes, pins, pinclips, rings and bore, another for $350 with samed stuff but with WSM forged pistons. i need it bored cuz it was blown up by my buddy last fall and also wondering if i should just bore to .02 over or go ahead and go for more power with .04 over??? or any other suggestions??
