  1. I've been thinking about making a trip down there myself.
  2. I think I figured it out.. I believe it's a raptor axle. from the pic of the nuts in this listing, it would make sense that the set screw would tighten down in the space between the threads.. and these threads are real fine just like the ones on the axle. http://www.ebay.com/itm/05-Yamaha-YFM-660-660R-Raptor-Axle-Lock-Nut-21-/230825479063?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35be454b97&vxp=mtr
  3. It's not stock, going by the 2 areas of threads, and I ordered some stock axle nuts and the threads are wrong.. Anybody know what it is?
  4. I just ordered some new ones, doing both sprockets and a chain.. I was just curious, going to use a 13 for trail and woods riding and a 14 for dirt road riding. just seeing if there was a fast way to swap them.
  5. If I notch the shifter hole at the bottom so I can pull the stator cover off without removing the shifter will it hurt anything? I can't see that the plastic supports the shifter very much. If I wanted to change the front sprocket I'd have to remove the nerf bar, foot peg, and shifter and the cover to get to it, But if I notched the shifter hole all I'd have to do is pull the cover. Will this screw anything up if I did this?
  6. I just put some h6m's in my 02 last night.
  7. I love the pull it has now, I think my arms are a little longer now. lol, but I wasn't sure about chain length.
  8. I just ordered a new stock size chain 520x104 and a new 41t rear sprocket, I was just going to re-use the front gear, but looking at it closer after I got the stator cover off it's wearing a little so I'm going to go ahead and replace it too. Someone already changed the front one to a 13t. My main riding is trails and some hill climbing, nothing too extreme though, but I do like to get it out on the road and air it out some, should I keep the 13t or go back to the stock 14t size? also if I keep the 13 will I need to lose a link in the chain to make up for it? rear tires are 20x11x9
  9. Ok, so while doing my axle bearings, I got out the tape measure. For some weird reason, The axle is exactly 3/4" longer on the right side than the left, measuring from the edge of the carrier, to the tip of the axle.. Anybody have an idea why they did this?
  10. I don't know what kind of shape the engine's in, the guy I got it from didn't take super care of it, so I'm trying to get all the time I can before a rebuild, because when it's time I'm going through the entire engine, not just the top end..
  11. I finally got some just in time too, the tank of gas that was in the bike ran out the other day.. mixed 32:1 with 93octane, it doesn't seem to run any better, but it started on the 2nd kick, whereas before with the yamalube the guy was using it took 10-15 kicks to get it to start. So far it seems like a good oil, plus it smells freaking awesome, I just wanted to drink that shit.
  12. I got the all balls bearing set from rockymountain, do I need to pull the rubber seals off the bearings and pack them with grease or are they already packed? I don't want to risk messing them up by pulling off the seal if it doesn't need it.. And the guy that I got it from never cleaned the damn thing, I've got to find some kind of puller or something to get the hub off the axle, it's full of dirt and shit won't budge. Tried popping the backside of it with a big rubber hammer but it still wouldn't go.
  13. I think the axle nut on mine is aftermarket, it's only one nut and its got some letters engraved on it and it's got a hex set-screw in it.
  14. I'm loving this thing, I haven't rode it much, maybe ran 1/2 of gas through it, while waiting on little bs parts. So far I've had get some wheels, put a new tie rod end on it, about to change the axle bearings because they have a little slack, and put new exhaust o-rings on it. There's a shop about an hour down the road I'm going to take it to and get them to do a top end and port job and change all the bearings out, just give it a good freshing up. I used to have a warrior back in the day that I thought was fast, but this bike is insane.
  15. How much of a pain is it to do axle bearings? I've got the jist of doing it, but as far as getting the bearings out of the carrier, are they always pressed in, or can they be done with simple tools, I don't have a bearing press kit or anything..
  16. Lol ok.
  17. Will 3 be enough? I have the fmf fattys..
  18. I noticed the other day the left side pipe is rattling on the exhaust port, so I figured it's time to do the o-ring and springs, is there any trick to these? It seems like it's super easy, just pull the hanger bolts, and remove the springs, clean up the pipe and exhaust port and put it back together? do I need to put any kind of sealant on the orings or anything before I put it back together?
  19. I've got a needle syringe tip for my grease gun, is it ok to grease the ball joints like that, just go in thru the boot? It won't leave a big hole it's less than 1/16th of an inch needle.

    Dumb question

Is anyone running the rpm arms?

    Dumb question

What's a good bang for the buck set of arms? Not trying to break the bank but don't want to fold them on the first jump.
  22. I'm not really worried about it, it'll give me an advantage taking left turns. Lol

    Dumb question

    Ok. So if I get + 2 arms I'll need a. + 4 axle, correct?
  24. When it says +2 or +3 on extended arms, does that mean it adds 2 or 3 to each side or 2 or 3 to the total width of the bike?
  25. I don't think it is, I could be wrong though.
