I've got a slight oil leak coming from somewhere, I have no idea where tho. It'll puddle in the flat spot below the sprocket. The oil that's there is a grayish color, but my trans fluid is still red. I can wash it out, and after I ride for a while, it starts to pool up again. I'm not losing any trans fluid, it's at the same level it was when I bought it back in june. The only thing I see leaking is the shift shaft seal is damp, but it's far enough back it doesn't sit over that flat spot, it would just drip on the ground. Unless that little white plastic cover's gasket (the one that's behind the case saver) is leaking some. If it is what is that called so I can get a gasket for it?

Got to thinking, instead of welding the carrier to the swingarm, what about putting a tensioner bolt between the tube on the carrier and the brace for the shock mount on the arm? That way I could turn the bolt and it would push out on the carrier and keep it from moving.
-
Mine's doing the same, but not as bad, I greased all the fittings I could find, and got under the edge of the ball joint boot with a needle fitting, It helped, but it still squeaks some.

Right now I have the gytr swingarm skidplate, and it seems like I'm losing alot of ground clearance with it, What's a good one that hugs the chain and rotor giving me the most clearance?

I painted my 350 with that paint before putting it in my s10, it's been about 2 years and it's still holding up good.

Best Way To Clean These Dirty Plastics.
jsinar replied to ATVridinMaNiAc's topic in Banshee Appearance
Super clean in the purple bottle. Don't get that purple power shit, doesn't do anything. Sprayed my motor down with it and just used a garden hose and it got all the oil and dirt off of it, pretty sure it'd clean those plastics. I use it to get the dirt out of the scratches on my rear whites, spray it on and use a soft bristle brush and brush with the scratches and it cleans them up nice. -
I'm thinking about getting it back straight, and just put a tack weld on it, The gearing I have now seems fine, good on flatlands and in the mountains, but If I ever change the gears all I'll have to do is just grind the tack weld off..
-
I did too, measured from front wheel to back, got them within 1/8" of an inch, tightened the shit out of both bolts, 110lbs on the top and 70 on the bottom, and it still moved.

I'm having issues with keeping my axle adjusted right.. I've found the problem. When looking at it from the rear, the top-left bolt hole in the swingarm is wallowed out some, so when you hit the gas, it will pull the left side of the carrier forward a little, which in turns pulls it foward about an inch at the end of the axle. Is there any way to fix this besides putting a new swingarm in it? Can those shims that are in the swingarm holes be changed, or can I take it somewhere and have them weld in the hole some to fill it in? What about drilling the top holes out and going with a tad bigger bolt? I'm really thinking about cutting the tube off the carrier for the top bolt and set it up like the early ones was, where you had 2 bolts in the top.

$30 shipped sound fair? It almost looks like that lower arm has a little bit of a bow to it..? Before you blame the spindle, pull the hub off and look at the spindle dead on, the shaft should be perfectly square with the spindle itself, On my left side, mine was the opposite, it had negative camber, the shaft was bent up just a little, barely noticible until you got everything put back together..
-
If it is bent, I've got a right spindle I'm not using, I bought a pair because I needed a left one..

Ok. Sorry for all the questions. This I my first 2stroke. And I'm scared to death if I run it jetted wrong I'll end up killing it.
-
Also, when I do rejet for no lid do I just change the mains? What about the screw?
-
Thanks. That's a good idea. Right now it's jetted for stock lid with the snorkel. When I get back from this ride this weekend I'm going to clean the carbs and get a few jets. So middle of summer run no lid, fall lid with holes and winter solid lid? With or without snorkels? And many and what size holes for the fall one?

Got a set of billet superservos for a gm 700r4 transmission, I believe they'll fit the early 4l60e transmissions also. Bought them for my v8 s10 but I ended up using corvettes in it. I've rode in a truck with these and the shifting is NASTY, way harder than corvette servos. Paid $100+tax, I'll take $80 shipped for them. Brand new never installed.
-
Right now my quad runs perfect, great looking plugs, after how many degrees of dropping temperature change should I raise the jets? Right now it's averaging anywhere between 90-97 degrees..
-
IDK, maybe 80 shipped for the silencers, and 30 shipped for the bumper?
-
Damn, missed that part, lol. if the mods want to delete it that's fine, I'll re-post after I figure out a price..
-
I'm open to trades also, I need a front brake lever, adjustable timing plate, stock swingarm, just let me know what you got..
-
I've got some powercore 2 silencers, pretty good shape, a little rust, they need to be re-packed and one of the end caps had a dent in it when I got the bike, I got it out as much as I could, you can get a new cap on ebay for cheap.. Ugly ass dg bumper, came on the bike, was the first thing to go, as you can see it's rough, got some dings and dents, needs polishing and the right side is bent back a little.
-
Anyway to squeeze a 14-42 with the stock chain/arm? Also, does anybody have a chart for different sprocket sizes that has the outside diameter of them? My bike has a gytr plate on the swingarm and I want to make sure before I get a bigger rear sprocket it won't hit the plate.
-
The owner of the shop let me borrow some $ tiil I get paid, so I'm ordering the turbinecore 2's today..
-
I tried the 13 today, I can't get enough slack out of the chain.. and if I pulled a link it would be too tight at the loosest setting.. How do you guys gear down? just run a bigger one in the back?
-
Tried making some, didn't work as planned, so I'm just gonna ride as-is, I know some people that ride there and they told me today that they've never been stopped to have their bikes checked.. I'll end up ordering some Turbinecore's in the following weeks anyways,
-
I eventually want to get some q's anyway. But this is just for now. I'll tell them I haven't done anything but put gas in it if they say anything. We used to ride there all the time and never saw anybody to check. But that was about 10 years ago
