  1. put my 300s in today and rode around for about 30 minutes, plugs were black as night, the 280s may be about right til it cools off to about 60-50 or so outside. Does the added timing and outerwears need to be compensated for any?
  2. I'm going to do a chop with 300s tomorrow and see what they look like. Cooler weather is here now, so the 280s would prob be too lean with no box lid. I've got some 290s on the way just in case.
  3. One more question.. right now with 25 pilots, the screw is .5 turns out, and I have to pull the choke all the way to start it, but it starts 2nd or 3rd kick, if I go to 27.5's will that affect the main jetting also?
  4. What other easy power adders are there? I don't want to go into the motor right now, it still runs good. So far it has +4 timing, fmf fattys, turbine core silencers, vforce reeds, prodesign coolhead, k&n with no box lid, What would I be looking at if I mixed 93 with 110 gas and bumped the timing on up to +8 or 10?
  5. Just took it out again after the temp dropped about 10 degrees. Feels better now. Guess I need to put my boost bottle back on too. Lol
  6. Just put an adjustable plate on my bike set to +4 and I'm not really that impressed with it. It feels like it pulls a little harder, but it's nothing like I was expecting.. Am I missing something here?
  7. I'm about to run it +4 timing and the weathers cooling off now. That should be about right.
  8. Anyone think these look ok? Need to go one way or the other?
  9. This better? lol It's my first plug chop, more like a plug hack. But you get the idea..lol That's with no lid and 280's Wide open 1/2 mile 6th gear pass. It felt like it picked up damn near 10 mph, and the front fenders were bent back, very squirrley on top end, never been like that before.
  10. It was about 80 degrees or so, a little cooler than usual, I started where the screws was before, about 1.5 turns out. Jeff at FAST told me to run them .5 out since it still has the 25 pilots. I'm gonna try it tomorrow after it sits all night to see if it's easier to start. Hopefully it won't be raining again so I can do a plug chop after I get off work.
  11. Ok got it all put back together, kicked and kicked couldn't get it started, pulled the choke all the way, started on 2nd kick. Does that mean I'm too lean on the pilot?
  12. I'm guessing that the guy I bought it from just threw the lid back on it when I bought it so I would get it..and didn't tell me not to run it. soon as my rebuild kits are here I'm going to put the 280s back in and make a couple of passes without the lid on some new plugs and see what they look like. But yeah, those are the same plugs that was in it when I picked it up.
  13. It's 280's now with the lid/snorkel. It was that way when I picked it up back in june.. removing the tors, so I figured I'd break everything down and clean the carbs good and re-jet accordingly. So I guess It's been running too rich then. By looking at the plugs it looks about right to me, but this is my first 2 stroke.
  14. Fmf fattys turbine 2 silencers, cool head. Stock carbs. K&n no outerwear. Goin to be putting on an adjustable timing plate here in a week or so. I'm at about 350 ft above sea level. Run 32:1 klotz r50.
  15. Alrighty, got the tors kit installed, now as far as wiring goes.. The tors control box was still in it, but the wires were cut right at the carbs, I want to get rid of the switch and wires that run to the throttle housing, Is all I need to do is unplug stuff, or will I need to tie wires together?
  16. Yeah, I'm going to order a couple today. Is the bowl gaskets re-usable? Say if I get it put back together and my jetting isn't right, I won't have to get new gaskets?
  17. Looking around for rebuild kits, some of the kits I've seen has the rectangular bowl gaskets like the ones that came on mine, but I've seen a few where it's a round o-ring.. How exactly does that work? LIke this. square http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-YAMAHA-BANSHEE-350-CARBURETOR-CARB-REBUILD-KITS-ALL-/370379947172?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item563c5d7ca4&vxp=mtr round http://www.ebay.com/itm/YAMAHA-BANSHEE-YFZ-350-2-CARBURETOR-CARB-REBUILD-KITS-88-2006-Moose-10030003-/270824568799?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f0e66f7df&vxp=mtr What about with gaskets like this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/CARBURETOR-REPAIR-KIT-YAMAHA-YFZ-350-BANSHEE-88-02-YFZ350-CARB-REBUILD-9930-/180748100851?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a156d24f3&vxp=mtr Which one would be the best route to take?
  18. Waiting on my tors removal kit I went ahead and tore my carbs down and cleaned them good, got some jet #'s.. 02, fmf fattys, turbinecore 2 silencers, k&n filter. Full airbox lid with snorkel. Right now judging by the picture, it's jetted almost perfect. That was a 1/2 mile wide open 6th gear run, killed it wot and coasted, pulled plugs. about 80 degrees outside. 280 mains, 25 pilot. Someone on here told me they way they run, is jet it right for no airbox lid during the summer, then when it gets colder put the lid back on. So if I pulled the lid now, what mains should I go with? I've got some 300 and 310s, either of those or get some 290s? or richer than that? It starts fairly easy, it idles forever after it gets warmed up, never fouled a plug, I mainly ride half throttle, very rarely I'll get into the powerband. Should I keep the 25 pilots or go with the 27.5's?
  19. Or you can get some of these: http://www.odigrips.com/roguepwclock-ongrips130mm.aspx I just got a pair, I haven't rode with them yet, but I don't think they'll come off..
  20. It's about time to get some front tires, I'm looking at either the kenda dominator https://www.denniskirk.com/kenda/front-k300-dominator-21x7-10-tire.p642407.prd/642407.sku Or the Duro berm raider http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/43/81/165/723/-/17487/Duro-DI2011-Berm-Raider-ATV-Tire Anybody use either of those? I'd like to have some of the old pure sport bandit tires, but I can't find them anywhere. Or if anyone else has any suggestions.. I want at least a 4 ply, I mostly ride trails, some rocky terrain, no mud unless I have to, I do hit the pavement sometimes, and I'd like them to have a halfway "flat" tread to them, hate the look of ballooned tires.
  21. Im going with the roundhouse design as soon as I'm able to fund it. Just trying to find a temporary fix.
  22. Update... I went to get on mine today and it was as bad as the OP... Found the source. Pull the bottom bolts out of your shock mounts, clean the metal tubes good and slather with some grease. I always use the green Lucas grease since its waterproof. The only thing you can hear now is the shocks working.
