  1. Ive already done a lot thats on the list,,next will be a swing arm and lighter wheels. Not too sure about the cheeseburgers though,,kinda fond of them. Thanks
  2. For sure they were the first to go,,i really like that bumper though. gonna trade out the swing arm next. Thanks
  3. It was just a crazy reply for a crazy question,,,I never had any set up like that on a bike. It would only lean your mixture and destroy your engine.
  4. It should work if you use squirrel cage fans,,,I have a good set that i ran on a YFZ for a while. Ide sell them to you for a good price. Let me know if your interested.
  5. Yea what your saying makes perfect since,, Ide like to see more carbon fiber stuff too.
  6. That thought already crossed my mind too. Im about 200 pounds and should be 175 or so,, the thought of going on a diet is tough though cause i quit drinkin and smokin awhile back and took up eatin instead. Im gonna shoot for 175 anyway to feel better but im putting my bike on a diet too. Heres a picture of it.
  7. sorry about the late reply ,,i had a sick 2 yaer old that had to go to the hospital. My bike has a port job that falls between a dune and drag port. I have gold series exhaust and k-n filters. Im running stock carbs for now with 340 mains and 30 pilots with two stage reeds. My HP should be 60 or a little more. I intend to have my head worked by mull eng. and some bigger carbs.
  8. Im trying to shave all the weight i can from my banshee,,,All suggestions and ideas?
  9. I really appreciate all the advice and info from all you banshee pros,,I wish i would have joined before i started building this bike. There is a wealth of info and advice here.
  10. My squish is ok just tighter than it would normally be with stock head and gaskets, I was worried about it causing head gasket issues but its doing fine. My compression is a little high for stock demensions but not too high for pump gas. Its at 140psi with port work and stock stroke and head but thats the only side effect it has.
  11. My cylinders are stock with a port job, and my crank is a stock stroke vitos crank. No spacers or special gaskets, I didnt think to gauge the base gaskets when i put them down because i assumed they were all the same in a stock gasket set. My squish is ok now but its tighter than normal for stock head and gasket. I have 140psi compression with all stock gaskets and head. And with the port work i have it should be a little lower than stock i would think. It runs great like it is and is all i wanted it to be. The only concern i have is if its gonna cause head gasket problems but i think its gonna be fine.
  12. Thats what im planning to do, i dont think the .010 height on the TDC is gonna hurt anything but wanted some opinions before i made any changes.
  13. Alright guys im asking for a flaming but i gotta ask anyway. My question is about Base gasket thickness, and port timing. I think my cylinders were decked at some point because when at TDC my pistons are coming out about .010 or just enough for a thumbnail to catch on the outside rim of them if you try to scrape your thumbnail across the top of the cylinder onto the piston. My compression with a stock unshaved head and stock gasket is 140psi. Im thinkin that a thicker base gasket will cure this but im worried about it messing with my port timing, Any advice would be appriciated .
  14. Ill try 5 degrees on my next ride, its running pretty good at 4 with 93 octane.
  15. I I said the same thing. I think my cylinders were decked some time in the past. i didnt realise it until i had it put back together and noticed the piston was coming up a little high in the hole. The outer rim of it comes out of the cylinder just a tiny bit when at top dead center. About the height of a stock head gasket. When the piston is at TDC you can take your thumb nail and try to go across the cylinder onto the piston and it will catch on the top edge of the piston.
  16. The head i have on there now is a stock unshaved head, i took the shaved head off because of squish issues. My pipes are fmf gold series and my port job is between a drag port and dune port. Ill leave it at 4 for now but will try 5 after mull eng. works the head.
  17. im kinda thinkin the same thing.
  18. Im getting mixed opinions on how much timing i can add on pump gas. I have ported cylinders with a stock head, my compression is at 140psi. Im set at +4 degrees now and was considering trying it at +5. 2
  19. Bad ass lookin banshee you got, Your cylinders are probably ported more than mine. Ill probably go with a set of 34mm and see what happens.
  20. Sand hill atv in wiggins Ms. is where i do most of my riding, its a killer place to ride and has a good mix of riding terrain. They have a web sight if your ever in the south and wanting to go for a ride.
  21. I ride dunes and trail with a drag race here and there. I like a little of all kinds. I think bigger carbs will help some but its one of those things that make me think will it be worth the $ to do it.
  22. When i sent my cylinders to advanced machine I told him what kind of riding i do and he said i needed something between his drag port and trail port. Im not sure how his drag port compares to anyone elses but the work was nice and clean with even lines and amounts of material removed. I just cant help but think i need bigger carbs, its one of those things that will bug me until i try it.
  23. im probably gonna put a set on it and try it. I didnt want to spend any more money on this engine but ill always feel like i should have tried it until i do it.
  24. I just put a fresh stock stroke engine together and am curiouIs as to how much power is to be gained with bigger carbs. The cylinders are ported just shy of a drag port and a bit over a trail port. Im gonna run a stock head that will be worked by Mull eng. with +4 or +5 timing and a pump and race fuel mix. Im using fmf gold series with stock carbs jetted with 30 pilots and 340 mains along with a smaller set of needles set in the middle clip. The engine runs strong and feels like its running as well as possible but i just have a feeling that there might be power to gain with bigger carbs. I think the port work will flow even more than its getting now.
  25. You could be loosing spark from bad wires or a bad cap. i had the same problem and just happen to be riding at night and could see the fire jumping and grounding to the head. Sounds crazy but maybe you should try revving your motor up in a dark garage or at night and watch the coil and plug wires to see if you have any fire jumping around.
