  1. i finally took my bike out for the first run. i put alky in the gas tank and calmly rode through my 1-5 override tranny to wormed up the bike, i lined it up in the road and reved it up to clear out the carbs a bit, when i took off at full throttle, it was sounding like the bike was bogging out really bad at top end, i changed my sparkplugs and CID box hoping that would fix the problem but it did the same thing, it sound as if it was loosing hella power at full throuttle, however when you take it easy and putt putt on the throttle the bike works perfect, it only dose it a full throttle. im running 35mm lectron carbs and my bike is a 65mm stock cylinder 4 mil crank, 1-5 override. what else can it be? also is the black wire from the CID box sippose to be grounded to the chassis, or the black and white wire sippose to be grounded to the chassis?
  2. i currently running a 16t and its pretty quick, once i get to the track i may barrow my mechanics 17t and see how it runs, i will not know untill i make it out their what ill run in the 1/8th with my current set up
  3. i started this website with this: and with all the personal work i did to this: yes im getting new tires lol
  4. well im currently running a 4 mil 65mm cylinder on alky, 35mm lectrons, 16F 38R sprocket, etended +8 swing arm, lightened all the wAay frame, shaved seat, solid struts all the way round, american racing tires rear, scooter fronts, lockup clutch,1-5 override tranny , do you need more info to tel me what gears i should get, i havent ran on the track yet due to me still being new to this sport and recently put my bike all back together, i astually built my bike from asking alot of annoying question lol lol to people on this site, trying to learn as much as possible befor i go to a 4mil DM.
  5. makes great sence so you saying the smallest rear sproket will be like a 38 which causes you to have to change front sproket were the biggest fron sproket is a 19, so changing your ratio to like a 2.36 will allow you to be just as fast as using a 19 but on a 17 sproket up front rite, so whats the difference in a 2.36 compaired to a 2.8 ratio,
  6. and lets say i stay with my 18 front sproket (not saying thats what i have) and im running good track numbers, would slaping one of the streight cut gears in give me more top end or bottom end HP, or is the puropse of the gears just to releave case pressure an will not give you any more top or bottom end power? will cause you to go through your gears faster or slower?
  7. so 17 front srproket is the highest the you guys would recomend befor changing the streight cut gears out? and again how whould u determin what ratio to choose once you get to this point, your above comment makes really good since dajogejr........ ....
  8. lol so i guess ill hold up on buying one untill i go 4 mil DM, but once i get their how would you know which ratio to really select, ive seen many different ratios
  9. so releaving side load, do that free up any H.P.? and if so how much do it free up.
  10. so when do you know you need to mess with that gear, like im a 4 mill stock cylinder, when is it time to mess with it? i do asphalt and drag strip racing
  11. ok so ive been browsing around and since im new to the drag seen and came a cross sreight cut gears, i see many different ratios, what is the purpose of these gears, and how would you know the one that fits your application?
  12. im astually thinking of putting one on my bike also. I have a guy selling me one with everything to do the conversion for $40. im thinking hard on getting it
  13. i know many people who drag race 1/8th mile track and street race that do not run the front brakes, even my mechanic dosent on his drag bike, my bike is only a 4 mil stock cylinder, my question is running the 1/8th i here alot about the front brakes locking up on you after a few passes at high enough speed, i really don want to get rid of my front brakes due to the extra security of stoping, does the locking up of front brakes really happen? and do i really need to do steel braded brake lines front and back brake lines or will stock brake lines be ok?
