  5. yeah i don think that what the problem is, lol i fermly believe its in the tuning of the carbs after reading a lot of alky fourms

  7. yeah but this is happening at full throttle in every gear starting with 1-5, it happends when the bike it at high RPM in the high range, when i pen the throttle from low to mid range the throttle response is crisp but past mid to high is when it starts getting really choppyin every gear, no power at all.....
  8. havent done that yet, as of rite now the bike has a welded rod and ball, pancake bushing is on its way now but ill definently check the sparkplugs after i get this problem fixed up and running.
  9. i did grind down the coil brackets for good ground but i did not do it for the motor, were would the motor ground be if all the motor mounts have rubber bushings in them gor vibration? also i still do need to ground the black wire and i think the brown wire from the computer harness, idk, but if they wernt grounded correctly, i dont think the bike would have started rite?
  10. no i have the plastic see through bowls, i was running this set up on this motor befor with no problem, the peoblem began when i got my frame powdercoated and started putting the bike back together with different pipes, i went from CPI out frames to RDZ pipes out frame, i didnt touch the settings on the carbs at all, just slaped them on with the new pipes
  11. and to be honist with you guys, my mechanic is/was the fastest cub cylinder 10 mil here in orlando florida before some one recently broke into his shop and stole his bike, he is also know for the fastest 18 mill DM street racing also so (shop name: El Domi Racing) youtube it......im sure he knows his stuff, but while at his shop with my bike trying to figure out the problem, he would keep telling me it was something in my wire harness but my bike was starting with the first kick no problem. wouldent he be able to tell if it was to lean or ritch by the sound of it?, but he would keep hoping that it would eventually clear out some how by continusly reving it, it reves pretty evenly untill at full throttle then then you can hear a little bit of sputtering/brakeup at WOT, Low to Mid reving sounds perfect, i honistly think it is jeting problems with the carbs after reading up on some other fourms but wont be able to tell till i get my pancake put in. i will surly check the sparkplug color when i get started again, Me and my mechanic are really cool so i wouldnt think he would steer me wrong, but who knows........

  13. i changed my plugs twice and it did the same thing, i used NGK BR8ES 3961 sparkplugs on my bike persay my mechanic, and no i did not gap them, took them right out of the box and used them, that what my mechanic told me to do, he has been drag racing for atleast 7 years with banshees so thats the route i took, should i gap them?

  17. i completely agree bro. but you and everyone else on here started exactly like i did, lol we all learned froms some one on how to do these things, and someone above stated a plug chop on a alky bike is not worth it, so do i or do i dont plug chop lol,
  18. i know i need to learn a lot with this alky bike and that why i ask questions on here so you guys can shine a little light on the situation, i just ordered my pancake barring due to me burning my rod and ball the other day so once i get the bike up and running, i am deffinently going to have him tune the carbs, i just hope to learn this as i go so i dont need to keep driving an two hours away just to get to my mechanic. i definently need to learn to read the plugs.
  19. honistly this is my first alky bike, and i really never had to check the plugs on my trail banshee, i dont even know what color to look for indicating rich or not, i know when i pulled them out the first time trouble shooting after putting brand new plugs in, the didnt have no color to them after running it for like 20 mins, they still looked brand spankin new just with alky on them. i dont really know what that indicates honistly. it fired up on the first kick so i thought sparkplugs were good.
  20. yeah ill just have him play around with the carbs and see if that fixes the problem after we install a pancake barring in it cause i just welded the rod and ball this morning, i am hoping that tuning the carbs is the problem and i dont have to spend anymore money lol RITE!!!!!!
  21. im running dual pingle, and the vent is fine, im going to tell him to tune the carbs a bit to see if it running to lean, like stated above, running a bit ritch wont cause this in alky,
  22. mechanic is saying the bike is loosing power due to the electrical that because of me shortening up the bikes wire harness to make it a bit more cleaner, i doubt that...... all i did was delete the extender part of the harness and mount the CDI box under the gas tank. if anyone has a diagram of what wires i need grounded out of the harness other then the BLACK wire, please let me know.
  23. timing is +7, and i havent mess with the plug gap at all, it cant be to leas on top cause it still really smoky at full throttle. also if the black wire wasent groungded then the bike wouldnt start correct? cause aparently the bike is running but my mechanic said it could be because i dont have a ground going to the CDI box, but my bike is running, its just not running strong at top end some one said it could be due to my coil also.
