  1. Just did a compression test... 60 in one and 90 on the other...manual stated kick 4 times until it peaks and it should climb with each kick... It stated that if it didn't on one kick and then jumped in the next, it indicates valve issues... Maybe the reeds
  2. 500 feet above sea level in Connecticut... just put on a fresh fuel filter yesterday and fuel is definitely flowing freely.... 43 degrees out right now
  3. have a totally stock 2003 Banhsee..... pulled carbs apart, cleaned, have factory #200 main and factory pilot... turned the screw on the outside of the 2.0 turns out... got the bike running for a few seconds and then died when I didn't give it a little throttle.... bike sounds weird, muffled almost.... I let it warm up for a few on choke, then with the choke in but it would die when I didn't give it gas.... put in gear drove for a 100 feet and then died.... nothing has ever been done to this bike, top end is original and still have TORS.... is it a jetting problem???, both carbs have been cleaned and work well.... I am running 93 octane with Maxima Castor 927.... any suggestions
  4. I just realized I might have put the GD floats on up side down.... We'll see
  5. How do you bend the tabs on he float bowl... I don't have a measuring gauge to see if there between 20-22 mm... I assume it's the tab that holds the needle or is it the whole piece that holds the plastic float pieces???
  6. just cleaned out the carbs on my 2003 Banshee that was given to me by a relative..... i have a lot of experience with small engines but this is my 1st time with an atv.... put her all back together this morning, topped off the fuel, opened the fuel shut-off and started kicking away... after a few kicks and no start, I looked down and saw gas flowing out of both carbs from the vent tube.... WTF.... I removed the float and needed and had to lightly tap out the pin on both carbs... needle looked fine.....any suggestions also, float(s) appeared to be in tact and no holes.... made an awful mess in the driveway
  7. thanks guys..... I repair lawn and garden equipment on a regular basis, but these carbs offer a little more difficulty.... love having a 2-stroke again though!!!!!!!!
  8. thanks for the quick response.... guy at the shop thought the same but he wasn't sure... taking the carbs off for some maintenance and thought i'd tackle it then if I has too.... good new though
