When we jetted it for no airbox lid, it was perfect with 340 main, clip at top of stock needle, 27.5 pilot, air screw is 2 turns out. Put the pods on, WONT START OR EVEN TRY! took the plugs out and it looked flooded put brand new plugs in it and still nothin! But i dont think its flooding now? What do i need to chane pilots to? Or do i need to do more?

Why would the pilots need to be bigger if it was jetted for no airbox lid?

Compression is 155-152 and with 20cc domes. It always has bout that. And i put the pods on and it wont start. It was jetted to run without the airbox lid tho? Its a 340 main.

It ran clear up until i put pods on it.

Sorry about that guys. Im doin it from my phone and everytime i try to post it says error try going back and posting later. But i need this thing fixed! It has a terrible history with its previous owner who drag raced it with some cheetah kit and a stock crank and toatled the engine so we got it and re built the motor about a year ago and its been running great since then. Now im going to toatally re do it. I want it to start before i tear into it so i know my problem and fix it!

Hell no. Hes been riding my yz450 so if he can start that he can easily start my banshees.

I get home today anxious to get started on my banshee. Had my little brother try to start it and nothing??? It has perfect spark, its getting fuel! Its got great compression! Why wont it start????

i just had knee surgery, hope to be back on my feet by this weekend to start tearing down my banshee. i plan on posting lots of pics if anyone is interested in my build. i plan on doing the following: painting the frame yellow, painting my A-arms black, painting my swingarm black, putting my pods on, messing with my wire harness, moving my electronics up front, polishing PC pipes, putting wheel spacers on, new grips on, rebuilding it, (either new rings or vitos superstock pistons), polishing my cool head, making or buying reed spacers, upgrade my shocks to works if i can find some for cheap, changing all my fuel lines and carb vent lines to yellow lines, different light bulbs, cutting my frame up to make it lite. parts i need if anyone has them lemmie know: aftermarket radiator works shocks (only if theyre cheap, will trade oem yellow shocks+cash) reed spacers vitos superstock pistons for .020 cylinders rear wheel spacers or extended axle 1 stock headlight for 1998 im building a fun trail/show banshee. keepin it clean,fast, yellow and BADASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have my new yamaha banshee apart and am going to do up my frame. The plastic colors are yellow and grey (my favorite of all the banshees) so i think im going to do my main frame yellow and my a arms and swingarm black bc those seem to get chipped more often. And im also trying to cut some unneeded shit off of it. I got rid of the parking brake and tors, so i was wondering if i could move all electronics up front? Do i need to make something to do this and were is a common spot to move them? Also, on the motor has anyone ever had the top case under the carbs painted? Do i need hi temp paint for that? Or is that just a bad idea? Thanks guys!

Welcome to Bansheehq bro! When you build your banshee, its only as good as it runs and handles. Keep it clean and reliable. Youve got a good start on comfort mods, just remember, its a trail shee. Dont try and make it a drag shee and ride it in tight trails. It wont be fun at all! Seen that several times in my area. Good luck!
