  1. this build was 1500 for vforce reeds, head with domes, 33 mm complete carb kit cylinders and pistons. the cub could not be done for this price. i ran the numbers with every sponsor on here. cub 1000 head 300 reeds 200 carbs 650 2150 is more than 1500 plus there is a few more goodies i want. the quality of this kit is absolutely there for the price
  2. what jetting did you use? what carb do you have on it? at 41mm it might just be overcarbed, drop the pilot way down like a 40 or 45 and try 172 jetting?? totally just how id try it opening a box though not sure what you tried?
  3. ended up ordering a set. it looks good. the pistons are made in japan and look like a set of stock ones basically. the exhaust port is higher and wider and the intake port is actually a fair amount taller too. the head that comes with isnt the bomb but visually it does have smaller domes and in my opinion is a fair bit better than stock as well. i ordered a set of 33mm pwk carbs as well. the plating on the cylinders looks really good as well. all in all looks like a great kit. i cant seem to find a different piston for them as of yet but aside from the stock look of them there not "junk" by any means
  4. Is it possible to make 75 hp with only 1000? I was thinkin it was prolly going to be 55 to 60?
  5. Its definatly rebuild time. This is what I was thinking for this year. 33 carbs, pistons,21 cc domes with a cool head and v force reeds That way next year its ready for a cub or more ready than it is now its abit over a grand.
  6. i have 2005 banshee with pc pipes , stock carbs, k and n filter, stock reeds and cages. was really leaning towards a athena kit nut it seems 99 % of people selling it have never put a wrench on a banshee and know nothing about the kit. so our local machine shop can bore my cyls i have done a clean up port job on em and they look pretty good. so now what else?
  7. check the side clearance with a feeler gauge if its not perfect. then take the cyls to a machinist as the proper gauges are expensive. as a rule of thumb if its apart cast sleeves need to be bored.
  8. considering doing a clean up/rebuild bike cyls are bone stock. leaning more towards a cub kit just might do a refresh to save some coin

    engine?

anyone have a hot roded engine for sale ? looking for something that will run with my stock carbs and or comes with carbs?
  10. ktm signed on with athena, thumpers been using athena parts for a long time i wouldnt be too scared of em actually plan on buying em myself. but yes a good machinest can indeed make a set of stockers better, he could without a doubt make the athenas better than the stockers. in my opinion
  11. im a larger guy my boot is 14" the peg is way too far forward to shift it quickly i have to wear shoes the width dont bother me, i dont want to shoot more money than i have to at them cause i want to do some engine stuff this winter, plus its sleddin season here and that aint cheap, slicing up the pegs that are on it dont look too bad just thought someone would have made a peg that didint cost alot
  12. crap no point in buying a nice set then, such a popular quad im really surprised people have just accepted the crappy stock pegs as far forward as they are
  13. what years of pegs fit? a guy on ebay sells 09-10 ones and claims they only fir injected model? what ones fit? i want to move the peg back with a pair of boots on my big ass foot cannot shift the bike
  14. no one here seems to like or support that kit. get a jet kit and start with the fattest one
  15. athena has partnered with ktm, as if they make junk, i cant see an italian company that has been making high quality parts for thumpers, that is down with ktm, suddnly just decided to make the junkiest banshee cylinder in the world, not likely.. they are cheap because of global technology.
  16. i sliced up my fenders i do have nerf bars but now i have no heel guards because the nerf bars used to factory plastic heel guards, is there anything avail?
  17. yes its 50:1 there mix overrides 32:1, that info is right from there tech dept. as far as it seperating? not so much its one of there flagship oils, interceptor oil
  18. price out a crankshaft kit, yes the cylinders could be junk. honestly stay away if you cant fix it or if you cant afford to get someone else too
  19. it takes patience drill it then use a quality easey out, or take it too a machine shop
  20. LOOKING FOR PEOPLE THAT HAVE ACTUALLY INSTALLED THEM AND WHAT THEY THOUGHT?
