  1. Yea, I was going to start there and see what that does. I may end up dropping one on the pilot too. Here's my current settings 4 mil stroker with aggressive dune port from FAST (20 over) CPI inframes 35mm PWK with CEL needles, clip dropped one from the middle position, 165 main jets, 52 pilots, air screws 1 turn out from seated K&N pods plus 4 timing V force 3 reeds Boss intake Noss head- 20cc domes @ 185 psi 800 feet above sea level, 60-60 degrees out
  2. What do you think? The smoke ring is right at 2mm. It feels like it's rich on the low end but the top end screams.
  3. Will do man! I'm 99% sure I've fixed it now. I believe it was a spark issue, either loose and worn out plug caps, the terminal stud being loose or a combo of both. I'll test it and report back.
  4. No, that was the same day, just earlier. I haven't had a chance to test it again with new plug caps and new plugs with a tighter gap. It's been raining every since.
  5. Okay, here's some of my concerns about going to Silver Lake. Hopefully someone can answer some of these questions to make me feel better about it. LOL So I'm looking at a 6-7 hour drive to get to Silver Lake. My biggest fear is something happening and not being able to get to through the gates and ride. My bike will not pass a sound test even if I freshly pack the silencers. The CPIs with my motor are VERY loud. To give you an example, I was riding it yesterday and a friend of mine lives almost 3 miles away across 2 patches of woods and 2 subdivisions over and they could hear my bike! He called to ask if I was over at my Mom's house riding because he heard it. Anyway, how many of you have been stopped at the gate and refused entry due to sound? I don't want to play games with the people there such as waiting and trying to sweak in when they are testing someone else. Also, once your in what are the chances of someone stopping you for sound? Exactly how bad are the rules there and how bad do they really enforce them?? The last thing I want to do is drop $300-$400 in sand tires, $120 or so on sparkies, $200 in gas and all the other small expenses not to mention taking some vacation time off of work only to get turned away at the gate.... Am I over thinking this or are my thoughts legit?
  6. If the rain holds off, I'm going to tune on it some more today. I've got new plug caps on it, new gas, new plugs gapped at 0.02 and I'm going to check the pick up gap. Hopefully this solves my problem. I'm also going to do a plug chop to get a better idea there.
  7. You could also DVR the fight. You can watch TV anytime with the technology of today. LOL
  8. One more video. You can't hear it too much in this one, but it is popping at WOT. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnK-zBfTxiY
  9. Mine will wind out, just pops at WOT. I just got back in from the garage. Put the new plug caps on that I got from FAST a long time ago. Also, tightened up the terminal stud on the plugs. It runs great and has a very snappy throttle. I'll get it out tomorrow and see how she runs. I will also do a plug chop while I'm at it. As for the loose terminal stud, I don't know if I could have pulled it off when I pulled the plug wire off of the plug or if it was loose and vibrating around causing this popping.
  10. I was sure it was the main jet then once I got it back in the garage I pulled the plugs and that's when I noticed the terminal stud issue. I pulled the plugs out and when I was taking pictures of them I noticed one of the terminal studs was missing. Went back and found it laying on the head. So it was definitely loose. I didn't rerun it after I found that problem. So my thoughts have completely changed from jetting to spark plug and or cap issues. I've got new plugs that I'm going to put in it along with a new set of plug caps. I'll give that a shot. Mike, didn't you bike sound like my second video when your plug caps were screwed up?
  11. Got the bike out for the first time this year today. I'm getting popping again at WOT. I didn't do a plug chop today, probably will tomorrow. I pulled the plugs to take a picture of them and did notice that the little nub thing (it's called a terminal stud) that screws on to the top of the plug was loose. It actually fell off when I pulled the plug wire off of it. Maybe, just maybe this is where I'm getting the popping from??? I've got new plug caps that I'm going to go ahead and put on. Listen to the bike in these videos and tell me what your thoughts are. The first video, you can't really hear it too much but it is popping if you listen closely. The second video you can hear it pretty good. (the popping isn't consistent throughout the night. It got worse toward the end of the day.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4HL6aH5cNM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlNUPnkdcx4 How do the plugs look to you? They are actually a little lighter in person than they appear in these pictures. These plugs have about 5 hours on them with 1 hour or so from today. \ Here's my info that may affect jetting. 4 mil stroker with aggressive dune port from FAST (20 over) CPI inframes 35mm PWK with CEL needles, clip dropped one from the middle position, 165 main jets, 52 pilots, air screws 1 turn out from seated K&N pods plus 4 timing V force 3 reeds Boss intake Noss head- 20cc domes @ 185 psi
  12. The more the merrier! We could potentially break the 50 rider mark in that case!
  13. My group needs to find a place to stay!
  14. LOL, if it's big, slick and muddy your best bet is to just walk away!
  15. I've been talking with Duke, the owner, about putting in a drag strip. This place needs to be more sport quad friendly and I think a drag strip would help out a lot. He says it very well may happen! I'll keep everyone posted...
  16. OH, also on Silver lake. If you wanted to drive to my place, ride with us and leave your vehicle at my place that's fine with me. I'm just asking everyone that rides with me to pitch in on gas money. As soon as this Badlands trip is over, we'll really focus on the Silver Lake trip and get that thread kicking and alive. There's a lot of planning that needs to be done to make that trip happen succesfully.
  17. I think you nailed it on the head when you said "donate." I say we do the lunch just like that, on a donation basis. If you have an idea on what you're bringing then post it up. I just don't want to get in a situation like we had at Haspin where we had food to grill but no grill. You agree? I'll probably bring some bottled water, lunch meat, bread and maybe a bag or two of chips.
  18. My buddy is bringing a set of Sand Geckos that he said I could slap on and try out. Last year I was running Fast Trekkers and the scoop in the tread pattern really worked well in the sand. I was taking people with some strong motors and mine was stock. This year, I have the new Honda Radials but I don't know how well they'll do in that loose sand where we were racing.
  19. There's a few of us from the Cincinnati area if you ever want to meet up! We're always looking for more people to ride with. Also, you should go to Badlands! Click the link under the picture in my sig that reads "Badlands, BE THERE"
  20. Dave, how much of a difference did you see from when you was racing with the dirt tires to when you put the paddles on? I'm trying to figure out how beneficial it would be for me to buy a set of paddles before we go.
  21. We plan to enter the gates of Badlands at 8:30am. We should plan on taking a group photo at 9am in the main parking lot just like we did last year. We can plan to do lunch at 12:00 noon. At that point we can make another attempt at a group photo. Should we try to do a picnic style group lunch? I know we tried it last year and it fell through. I'm thinking whoever wants to eat, meat at the trucks at noon and bring whatever you want. We could lay it all out on a trailer or two and have at it!
  22. With only a few weeks out, let's get a role call going. I'll start with the7 people going in my group and add the ones who have committed. Add anyone in your group that I missed! As for a rain date, how does a week later on April 3rd sound? Keep in mind Easter Sunday is April 4th so if April 10th would work better for a rain date we can do that too. If we need to move the date due to rain, we'll make the call Friday the 26th by noon. Does that sound okay? Just trying to get this all organized.
  23. I remember the silencer falling off. LOL
  24. Is that the same black one you was on last year?
