I just went through this on a stock stroke rex. Problem is that the parts are so rare and expensive. TDR racing seems to be one of the few who really stocks parts and deals with them. Give him a shout. He was straight with me when I talked to him.

I think if you run a tap through, there is a good chance you will double cut the threads and just make it worse. Try a chase kit. Plus if its already threading in cock eyed, than you may not be able to rethread. A helicoil will work. Its not like you have to torque the shit out of the intake boot. But if a timesert is availble, I would use it. IMO if your looking at going .100 over, I would junk the cylinders and find another set.

No offense but i see half ass all over this. Do it right the first time. Helicoils are junk. I would use a timesert. Similar to a helicoil but ten times better and stronger. You will need the m6x1.25 insert. Its a simple process but needs to be drilled straight. The 100 thou over is getting really thin. It is not a real popular choice. At the point you are at, I guess what does it really matter??

As far as the reeds go, I used a razor to cut the tits of the stock boots untill it was below the outer seal rubber. As far as the stator goes, I would try and drop your ohm setting down to at least 10 or 1. May get a more accurate reading. If the manual shows .26-.33 and your at almost an ohm, I would say you have some resistance somewhere. Check wires and solder points. I would think at least you would have a dim bulb tho. East Coast ATV sells used stators if your trying to keep cost down. Give them a shout.
