high comp.,piped,=no wheelies?wtf..
DieHard2Smoker replied to volcrano's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Just some more food for thought. my shee, head milled 25 thousandths, DMC 916 pipes, stock carbs w/ lid. My elevation 1200Ft. 270 mains and runs like a raped ape and pulls front tires at will. same machine at st anthony sand dunes (4500ft). 270s ran wayyy to rich. 240s were so lean it would cut out on long climbs. 250s is where it likes. banshees will run even when too lean, but that doesnt mean its good for it. hope you fix your shee before it goes boom. -
Anyone running EGT gauges?
DieHard2Smoker replied to black sunshine's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
run them on my skidoo 1000. like said above 1250 is max for any amount of time, 1300 if just for a moment. i have the Digitron EGT, cant remember what model but it does its job well and makes tuning the fuel box easy. gained several horsepower by tuning with it. -
pwk 28's ..... i'm paranoid with my jetting
DieHard2Smoker replied to justinkk2005's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Im new to the banshee world but have modded sleds extensively. But everyone who mods a sled has a EGT (exhaust Gas Temperature) gauge. They are most useful for tuning at WOT which wont really help your pilot jet but will help dial in your main. I am not sure why people do not run them on their handle bars on Shees. THey are a few hundred $$ and make tuning for the edge easier. Just do not exceed 1250 degrees on long pulls and your set. made tuning my n2o fed skidoo a breeze. (it has a Boondovker Fuel Box but principle stays the same, too hot, add fuel, too cold, subtract fuel) -

Looking for st. Anthoney riders
DieHard2Smoker replied to dicedealer702's topic in Riding and Events Forum
i go for a week every summer. its the best riding i have done thus far. and ST. A's has some BIG hills, but choke cherry, and the big stuff is not right by the campground. but there is a trail right to them. i stay in the hotel in st anthony because i dont have a camper... yet. but i go long past the campground to park in an almost vacant parking lot that is less than a mile to the big hills. only people i see at this parking lot are the drug task force guys cruising in their jacked Suzi Samurai, and a local or two. i love st anthony's because besides the campground area there is almost no one there. i hate crowds, squids, and parking lot superstars. i have only unloaded at the campground once and will never unload there again, lots of parking lot superstars and squids. a group of idiots trying to jump down the trail on the side of the dunes to get to the big hills. i got off my bike and had a few words with the idiot who almost landed on my brother when we were coming up a small dune on the trail. needless to say that spineless s*** wont make that mistake again. PS and by the way my pic is choke cherry. its HUGE -
Stock Case w/ stroker crank Question
DieHard2Smoker replied to DieHard2Smoker's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
another question is what pipe do you guys like for a 4-6 mill stroker? preferably top end pipe. i have been searching and pipes have been beat to death just as any other forum. but the only info i get is for cub or serval strokers. -
Stock Case w/ stroker crank Question
DieHard2Smoker replied to DieHard2Smoker's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
just so ya know, it will be ported and piped, bigger carbs. i just didnt want to ramble on about the build. i am new to banshees and had no idea about what stock cases can accept. i will get a new head rechambered to run as high of compression as i can off of 91 or 100ll. havent decided yet. (local airport makes 100octane cheap) and yeah i think a stock 500 dynos around 58-59rwhp. honda claims way more, but i have a top end pipe, and its an arm ripper. needs a bigger carb as well. 41mm pwk is on the next paycheck. thanks for the info. -

Im new to the banshee world but not new to 2 strokes or toys for that matter. ive been reading the forums and useing the searchbox to soak up as much info as possible But, what is the most mm you can run on a stroker crank before you have to have case work done? i have read 4 mill is safe but i see 5 millls on fleabay as well (and for somereason slightly cheaper). just got a stock banshee that needs some waking up before its dune worthy. Im looking to put together a fairly fast banshee without breaking the bank (1000-2000) so I can do some climbing on Choke Cherry at st anthony's and can keep up with my cr500.

reliability of a stock vs 4mill
DieHard2Smoker replied to marcboy62's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
There is a limit as far as how many feet per second (FPS) a piston can travel without destruction. [Please note that this should be FPM feet per minute - Rick] This limit has been established at (an average) of about 4000 FPS for high output motors - 5000 FPS for short drag racing (rare indeed) - even more rare are the to fuelers who go as high as 6000 FPS. Increases in the stroke make the limit closer and have to be compensated for in other ways. - macdizzy.com (site about 2 strokes) I've read thost same #s somewhere else as well I think its correct. But some other of there stuff about port work makes me think there not all too knowledgeable. -

Tradin in the banshee.
DieHard2Smoker replied to bluebanshee421's topic in General Banshee Discussion
as far as year goes for the Raptor, the newer the better. Im not sure what your riding style consists of but the raptor is about 40 lbs heavier, and has a smaller gas tank then the Banshee. 3.2g Banshee 2.9 gallon Raptor. So if your riding long distance i would look into a bigger tank possibly. Stock hp of the Raptor seems to be consistant low 40s, lotta guys saying with a good pipes and intake you can get near 50. obviously on this site you know what a banshee is capable of... I have heard the efi can be a nightmare if things start to shit the bucket. But good luck if you get one. as for my 2 cents i will never own a 4 poke. I have ridden both quad and dirtbikes both 250f, 450f, 450 quads and 700 quads and im sticking to the smokers. much cheaper to operate, in my opinion much funner to ride. but then again i thought quads were retard chariots until i hopped on a banshee a few weeks ago, closest a quad will ever get to a dirtbike in my opinion. -
