Pull the plugs and let everything dry out. If you push the throttle once or twice before you kick it then it should be fine to start without throttle just the carbs chocked.
If it's jetted right it shouldn't over heat. I trail mine in tight places riding with kids, girls and old people. Lots of putt putting around and it never gets too hot. (Knock on wood)
I have a set of Rocket 2 pipes that would make that thing fly when it's all done. Probably the best all around trail / play pipe ever. The guy who made them went out fishing one day and never came back so they are pretty rare. Hit me up if you're interested you won't regret it.
