yes buy a complete seal and gasket kit and a tube of yamabond, or 1211. replace the crank seals for sure. once you get in there you will decided how the best way to go about removal.

i'm afraid that you may have to split the cases... i tried prying on once and busted my cases. it turned a simple task into a daunting one.

not too difficult to just split the cases

If your clutch disengagement rod is stuck in the trans shaft and won't budge, you will have to split the cases to be able to get to it and drive it out . Its not a hard job to do.
