  1. When i first got it the left light was dimmer and it was like this for awhile. Then i had a problem with the clutch so i fixed that and it started and ran great but none of the lights work not even the tail light. It has a 200 watt ricky stator. What could of caused this?
  2. Had a 400ex last summer rode all the time was one of the best summers of my life. Then winter came and we've had over a foot of snow for what seems like forever. So i got a banshee and its maybe ran like 5 hrs and has been nothing but problems and im getting down because the damn winter has made me forget what riding is like. So is all this work worth it for when spring comes? I just miss riding so much its starting to mess with my head. How are these beast on the dry? It doesnt matter what you ride it all sucks when its freezing balls and deep snow everywhere. Maybe some pics of shee's in the summer would boost my mood if anyone has any. Winter Sucks!!!

  5. Ok i have several questions. My mods are 19cc domes, k&n air filter, holes drilled in air box lid, trinity 2 in 1 carb intake with a keihn 36mm pwk carb, it is a range of 0-35 degrees and my elevation is 1,100 feet. I was running 93 with 40:1 ratio and my jetting is 190 main 52 pilot and i seized one of the pistons. Is jetting/fuel what caused this? I know my crank is good, please help me out. thanks
  6. Yeah ill get in there and check things out this weekend. Its pretty cold here and im not sure if it was rejetted for winter or not so that could be it? What sound would it make if their was a hole burnt in the piston? Cuz their was kind of a whooshing sound rite when it lost power but its hard to describe.
  7. I was running 93 with 40:1 and its jetted 190 main 52 pilot is this way off? ive fouled a couple plugs and they are pretty wet when i take em out? The guy that had it before ran race fuel but he said it would run fine on 93. What do you think could be the reason it seized? I wasnt going full pin on the throttle or anything just your normal fast accelerating. Also what price range is this fix gonna be? Thanks in advance for any help. I love quads but im new to banshee's so im gonna need some tips
  8. Ok last weekend i poped in some new plugs because one for some reason crapped out on me. Anyway it ran great and i took it slow and got it warmed up good then i decided to drag it down the highway and it all went fine. But then on the way back as i was getting up to some good speed all the sudden it lost all power and with the clutch pulled in i coasted to a stop. The clutch works fine and it shifts like it should but when you push on the kick lever as soon as it engages the idler gear it wont go anymore. What do you all think top end? I just got done fixing the clutch so i dont think its anything under the clutch cover. My mods are: 1996 Yamaha Banshee .40 over with Weisco pistons and rings, case halfs hot rods crank Cool Heads with 19cc domes Barnett Racing clutch 200 Watt Rickey Stator FMF power core 2 silencers with FMF gnarly pipes Trinity Stave IV 2 in 1 carburator kit and intake with Keihin PWK 36mm carb V Force Delta 3 reeds and cage K&N airfilter New coil and CDI box 1997 wiring harness

  10. Ok -2 it is. Now im wondering about brands and prices for both the swingarms and arms. I would like to spend the least amount possible but i put quality before price so if i have to get something more expensive to ensure it will be strong and wont break and all im willing. I also want it to look good to lol

    -2 swingarm

    I would like to get some opinions of the -2 swinger and how it makes a difference? Also what would be best to do first a arms or swinger? My goal is to make the best handling and jumping bike i can. Ive kinda got my eye on the black powdercoated avenger, what would that cost? and do i have to buy a new axle also? Im new to this so any good info on this whole topic will be greatly appreciated.
  13. The guy i got it from had the rims flipped to make it wider. I want to get the best handling, but im not really in the budget for a arms rite now so what would be the best setup for handling and stability with stock arms and 450 shocks?

  15. Just wanting to see this setup and get some info on it before i do anything i really like jumping and drifting and how wide would it make the front end with the rims flipped? Wondering what is the favored brand for this? also i was looking at jd performance and i really liked those.
  16. Thats what i did on mine just put a threaded rod all the way through then you can really tighten it up with a wrench on each side. Mine just has the rod through the back because my front holes are fine. But i am very happy with how the rod works made the pegs really solid.
  17. Rode it last night and it was fine, the fibers were not new i just replaced the pressure plate, hub, and springs. thanks everyone
  18. Havnt tried riding it yet had to fix something else. i just wanted to see if it was a problem before i put it back together. Also no i didnt soak the fibers and what does that mean im new to this stuff.
  19. Ok i just replaced my clutch hub, pressure plate, and clutch springs. The springs are stock ones. Anyway when its in nuetral is rolls fine but when you put it in gear it cant roll like its supposed to, but then when you pull the clutch in it still wont roll. The pressure plates comes out when you pull the lever like it should so im not really sure what the issue is. Thanks for any help
  20. I have some works dual rates on my shee to only they have the piggyback ressis. One of them also leaks and they dont look gook at all the springs are rusty. Anyway i havnt had a chance to jump it yet and im wondering how they do and if its even worth rebuilding them or just getting some yfz shocks on ebay instead. I really like jumping so which is best. Also if i dont rebuild them what do you think i could get for them on craigslist? thanks
  21. Idk length wise but i think their even longer than yfz shocks which are 16" center to center of the bolt holes so you would have to compress the shocks quite a bit to get them to fit. I had some on a 400ex and i really liked how they did on the jumps and stuff. Also you would have to get some washers or bushings to put on the shock mount bolts because the yamaha ones are wider than hondas at least on the 450r shocks.

  23. I have several questions. First off does anyone know which is longer i have works dual rates w/ reservoirs and they make the quad sit kinda high but not bad, will the 450 shocks be about the same or shorter/longer? i havnt jumped the shee yet cuz its winter but i had a 400ex with trx450r front shocks and i loved the way they felt. Which is better for jumping and taking the most impact? Also does anybody know how the yfz and 450r shocks compare and would the 450r fronts even be a option on the shee? Thanks
  24. Ok back again with my next shee issue. ive only had it a for about a month but hopefully as i learn and work the bugs about it will become a little more reliable. Anyway what happened was this. I was riding and when i would slow down pull in clutch and roll towards a stop right before it came to a idle. I would hear a very slight grinding but more of a whirring sound. When i leaned down next to the motor i could tell it was something close to the outside (didnt sound internal). I think its either in the clutch or kickstarter assembly but its hard to tell for sure. So the sound continued and seemed to get a little lounder. Then i pulled in the clutch came to a stop and shifted into nuetral and it idled for about 10 seconds and thats when i heard kind of a pop/ clunk (from that area i described earlier) and it died. Now the kickstarter lever will only go down about 2 inches and then you cant push it at all anymore. When i tried to see if the clutch would pull in i found that you cant pull the lever at all. I havnt even started tearing into it i just wanted to get some tips and advice of where and what to really look for inside before i start. All help appriciated thanks. Also during all this i never had any shifting or clutch issues everything was normal except that sound. I believe the previous owner said there was a new clutch basket and stiff springs just to give all the info i can.
  25. ok i went out and blew out the carb with compressed air. the carb looked fairly clean. the main jet was fine and the pilot jet seemed a little clogged but not bad. the bottom of the carb was completely full of gas and alot spilled out when i was taking it off. i checked the plugs and they were both pretty black and wet from oil. they were both still getting a spark when i did a spark test though. so after all this i went out put the choke and gas on and it started up on the 3rd kick i let it idle for a little bit then slowly pushed on the throttle and it reved up then it bogged out and died like before. next i kicked on it for awhile and it shot gas out the right pipe and also backfired i dont remember which happened first. then after i stopped i noticed where the silencer and header connect on the right side it was leaking gas. also during the kicking after awhile gas started coming out the overflow tube. my jetting is 190 main, 52 pilot, the carb is a Keihin PWK 36mm, and the plugs are ngk BR9ES, elevation is 1,100 ft, temp is around 0 im running Ti lube 2 stroke synthetic 32:1 and i did put some gas line antifreeze in the tank and shook the quad good before i tried to start it hopefully with all this info someone can help me figure out my problem any help will be strongly appriciated
