  1. I am using 1194. Is that fine? That's what they gave me at Yamaha shop because they had no Yamabond 4. Ya I guess i'll do the leakdown before I put the clutch and all that other crap on this time.
  2. Alright i'll take your advice. Yah gonna do a leakdown if I ever get it together lol. What all has to be assembled to do the leakdown. The cylinders and head and everything right as far as topend. Well gonna try to see how far I can get tonight. I already had cylinders and everything on getting ready to do clutch before this happened. On a side note I thought I recalled reading you don't have to use the orings in the clutch? When I took mine apart there aren't any and I thought I read that. Thx. greatly for the guidance. Mike
  3. Yah he would have had to beat it in there. I am glad I caught it. I knew what I did as soon as I started looking at it. I got it all back apart again. Do I need to reclean the sealant off of both sides again or can I just put it on and slap it back together? Do you guys put it on both halves or just one? Thx for the info. It was discouraging but I can take it apart and put it together without the manual now lol.
  4. Well that answers my question. Looks like it's coming back apart. Thx. man.
  5. Well the nobs are facing out. Seems as if nobs were on both sides though. I can't remember. Damn I don't want to pull it back apart. I know the other side had the deeper hollow lip which I packed with grease.
  6. Well I am assembling the rest of the engine and am now installing the drive gear and when I slide it on it doesn't want to slide into the crank seal and seat. I have used some force but it doesn't want to go. I got to wondering if I maybe installed seal backwards as I can see the spring on the seal but it seems as the other side had the big hollow lip. I hope someone says it just needs pushed in harder.......................
  7. Well that's what I did...........
  8. So just flip the other one over? You have any problems out of it? Must be what they expect you to do if yours was same way.
  9. I just opened up the gasket kit and getting ready to put the cylinders on. Looks to me as there are 2 gaskets for the same left cylinder. The side with the sealer on it goes down correct? The way it looks is as theres 2 of 1 side.
  10. No I am making changes to the mods but there was no failure. I just couldn't get the bike to run right and suspected air leak and dicided to rering it and then ended up completely tearing everything apart and starting from scratch where I then found some different things. Bike had 18cc domes and +10 timing. I wasn't aware as previous owner got it in a trade and didn't know much about it and was not running race fuel. Missing the motor mounts that attach to underside of crankcase. Tore rubber boot where airbox connects to carb. When I first got it the TORS was removed but no kit installed. Several other things I forget but yah I wanted to know what I had so I tore it down. I decided to put pods on it and chang timing to +4 and 20cc domes.
  11. Getting closer to getting bike done and looking forward to breaking it in. Was wondering what some of you would recommend to start out with to be safe. Mods include: Cool Head w/ 20cc domes, VForce 2 reeds, +4 timing, stock carbs, K&N pods w/ outerwears, T5's. I live in southeastern Ohio and believe elevation is like 800ft. around there, definitely below 1000ft. It has been a warm summer here in 90's and lows in 80's. Just looking for a good baseline. I know i'll have 27.5 pilots. Thx.
  12. Used the loctite trick. Thx.
  13. I got some 3 bond 1194 from the Yamahashop.
  14. Anyone ever use this? http://www.permatex.com/products/motorcycle/motorcycle_gasketing/motorcycle_gasket_makers/motorcycle_MotoSeal_1_Ultimate_Gasket_Maker_Grey.htm
  15. Is it alright to use Permatex (grey I was thinking) for the cases? I remember using it when I rebuilt the topend of my Raptor660. Think it's about the same thing.
  16. Just when you think your ready to assemble. It's always something lol.
  17. Do what? Bought it off ebay. Guy said it was done by K&T performance.
  18. Wow just looked at it and realized that it's a Hot Rods crank. It says it on the rods so I assume the crank is because it says H.R. 204. Well here is a pic of what I was talking about. The left bearing has a groove for a clip but there is no groove on the left side of the case and no tab so will it just rest there then? The right side has a groove in bearing and case but no tab. Just drop it in and go?
  19. Reviving an old post. I am just now finally getting ready to reassemble. The crank bearings in the center have the orings. The right side has the groove for the clip but no tab. The left side bearing has the groove for the clip and no tab but the left side of case has no groove in it. I will get a pic to show what i'm talking about.
  20. O.K. I ain't moving nothing just trying to shift it. I will try spinning the shaft as I shift. I think it will be o.k.
  21. I am checking the tranny before I screw it and glue it and never had a shifting problem before but now when checking the tranny for each gear it is binding in certain places. Don't know why. I checked the gap and made sure it's equal on both sides where it contacts shift star. Really aggervated. Any ideas?
  22. Trade ya a barely used Xbox 360 w/ extra wireless controller, NBA LIVE10, Madden10, Halo3 ODST
