  2. I'm having same issue. Mine will fire right up if you prime it and if you then shut it off it will start right back up. After it cools down and sits it wont start for nothing won't evenvtry then you prime it and fires right up.
  3. Does it matter if the spacers go before or after the reeds?
  4. All it is missing is the lengths. Thats very informative.
  5. That's how I have it just wanted to make sure. Couldn't remember.
  6. Manual says make sure ground wire connection point on frame is free of rust and corrosion. Is there another ground wire besides the black and orange primary wires?
  7. Can't remember if chain routes over or under the bottom roller. Thx.
  8. I just don't understand how CDI affects the initial startup and starts fine after started and primed. Would like some more info.
  9. I feel that carbs and jets are clean. Could it be a CDI or coil That is affecting initial startup?
  10. Everytime it sits for while I have to prime it to get it started.
  11. FINALLY got it to run. I have to spray starter fluid in K@N filters to get it to start after cold. I have already gone through carbs several times. Someone mentioned CDI or coil for hard starts?
  12. Well went out and took off filter and such. Disconnected fuel line from T fitting and turned on petcock. Gas instantly runs out. I reconnect line to T and it doesn't flow and there is no obstruction in the T. Acts like there is a vapor lock or something.
  13. O.K. so I continue to work on this. I put clear blue hose on and a fuel filter running from petcock to carbs. Is there any certain way the T fitting needs to go that the fuel lines attach to. It kind of looks like gas is coming out of petcock then through filter and then not really flowing through the T. I have blown it out and everything and there is no restriction. I look at the fuel lines goint to inlet of carbs and on left carb there is a little bit of gas sitting right at the inlet and then empty running to T and on the oppositte side I see nothing but air in line. Like it's vapor locked or something? HELP!!! The way I have it is off petcock through filter into single part of T then left and right to carbs.
  14. They are just stock carbs. O.K. the choke tube going between carbs, yes it's always there. I will try the emulsion tube then. I really don't know what else to do. When I take the carbs back apart, yes there is gas in bowls.
  15. Nope not talkin bout pilot jet!
  16. What about the needle jet? The 1 that is under the main jet in carb body. Not The 1 with the clip. Doesn't it have a bunch of holes in it that allow fuel to flow through and is it pressed in?
  17. I never mixed up bowls but at this point previous owner may have. The carb with choke has tube running up into bowl. This is killing me.
  18. I checked the spark after sun was down and it looked alot better then I had thought. Pickup gap Was set with business card. Maybe I do have slides up too high. I blew air through every passage and never messed with choke tube.
  19. Well I still cannot get it to start. Few things to add. Compression is 145psi in both cylinders with 20cc domes. Has spark and I went through carbs checked float level fuel valve and seat. It just isn't getting Fuel to damn cylinders. I don't know what to do.
  20. Does it matter which way the reeds facing? There is no up or down correct? I see the factory ones have a certain way to go in but I don't see on the VF2's that it matters. Trying to make sure I don't have them installed wrong and eliminate a problem of fuel delivery.
  21. Can someone confirm my question about the reeds going in 1 way or not? VF2 reeds.
  22. So disconnect cable and loosen adjustment screw on pressure plate. Push lever on case until it points to arrow and adjust the screw in and tighten to this point. Now adjust slack in clutch cable?
  23. Yeah I only work on them 1 at a time. Are the Moose rebuild kits alright? Basically need the seat and needle correct? I need to go ahead and check float height also.
  24. There not gummed up because I have had them apart cleaning them. I am thinking there is some dirt in fuel valve passages. I had the carbs sitting on the back porch on my tool cart while I been building the motor in my extra room as I don't have a garage at my house. Well mud daubers decided to get into a couple of the vent lines and such on the carbs and the fuel inlet of the 1 carb. I thought I had it all cleaned out because I blew out all the passages and such. After I did clean the one carb then the float started sticking. If the fuel valve had some issues would that not let it feed to cylinders?
