  1. ok, i just got my new intakes just last week. havent had time to put em on yet cuz i was on vacation and will try to put em on tommorrow even though its about -2* out right now. thanks for the input and i will post back with updates
  2. ok i think i found my problem. I started tinkerin with it this morning and found another issue - cracked boot from the carb to the reeds. Had some gas in a squirt bottle (used to start it) and just put some on the carb boot right by the boost bottle and the engine rev'd up. But would this make my quad hard to start? I figured thats probably why it doesnt run that great. Since its christmas eve i probably wont get around to cleanin the carbs till tommorrow night or saturday and probably get new carb boots monday to tuesday. Thanks for the input and will get posted back next week
  3. So i finally got my banshee running today. I had to pour gas into the back of the carb to get it started but once it started it ran like a champ. After riding it around a bit and the engine warmed up, i noticed that right before the powerband would hit it would just sputter. It seemed like the band wanted to hit but just wouldnt. But when the engine was fairly cold, the powerband would hit like none other. So, would this be a jetting issue or just a wong air / fuel mix? Or would it be because i dont have aircleaners yet? (havent got any yet. just got the quad yesterday and also just cleaned the carbs and put fresh gas in. 24:1) Mods done: .70 over bore T5 pipes V Force reeds TORS kit
  4. So i picked up my banshee tonight. I dont know what this guy was thinking...a 97 banshee for a 91 cr250 that all beat up. So i got it home and started to play with it. Kicks over great and has pretty good compression. It has a big blue spark and the plugs look new. Tried to start it with no progress but i did notice that gas was comming out the bottom of the bowls. (took plugs out and they were wet) I also noticed that it looked like there was a line running from one carb to the other and it was off one one of the carbs. I dont know if its supposed to be there or not but it runs from a hole by the fuel line to another hole on the other carb. (cant find it in my manual) I also got another set of carbs and im going to take em appart tonight and make sure they are clean before i put them on tommorrow. (looking through manual to get everything right) Any input would be appreciated!

  6. Hey im new here (just signed up tonight) and this post is probably in the wrong place but here goes. btw my name is cameron I am going to pick up my first banshee on tuesday. I have always rode a 91' cr250 (had for about 3 years) and I figured that it was time for somethin new. Found a 97 banshee on craigslist that this guy wanted to get rid of so I decided to see if he wanted to trade. Only one catch: his bike wont start. So I looked at the bike today (get pics up soon) and it looks in fairly good shape. He is only able to start it by pouring gas in the back of the carb. He said that he would throw in an extra set of carbs with the quad and a clymer repair manual. I really want to keep this quad on the cheap side so were should I start to get this quad running? (guy said that its not the stock carbs. quad has been bored .70 over and is on a completely fresh top end) Like I said im picking it up on tuesday and will try to get more posted.
