I think ths is a great topic, i have been tuning street bike clutches like this for some time now. Brian,i thnk maybe if we touch on the ideal launch(limited tire spin, keeping the motor at peak power and maximizng forward motion in the first 60') the facts and info you share may be easier for some guys to grasp. Id like your info/opinion on judging initial base presure and the poitive and negative effects of to much, also not enough. From my tuning to much initial spring/base pressure will cause excessive tire spin or a bog. To little pressure will cause little to no tire spin, and "driving through the clutch/slip" resulting in heated, glazed, and overworn clutches. This will slow et and 60'. please share some more info this post can help many of our members to grasp this topic. Chris

ok to me the problem looks like the arm, the red slider is closer to the sprocket than the white one. also this can be fixed by sloting the rear hole in the arm or the slider. just my .02 chris -

Thanks adam i was going to post that pic.lol thanks for the good words guys.I hope to do some more cool things coming up. chris WheelmanChassis -
ok cool guys, 0-500 firm it is. i just didnt want a 10 mil super to have to run 14dms. sounds good to me jt bring that lil guy out!

here is my thinking on the super cub, and the superior sleeve motor and why. i DO think the super cub should be allowed in the 0-500 class for reasonse as fallows: super cub has same intake track as a cub the the same exhaust port as a cub and the hp levels for super cubs are very comparable to a cub. its a cub with a bigger bore. nothing more I DO NOT think a 10 mill superior sleeve motor should be allowed in the 0-500 class for reasons as fallows: ss has a much larger intake and reed combo than a cub or a super cub ss has way more exhaust potential than cub or super cub the ss motor at 520+cc has the same hp potential as a cheetah ss is much more comparable to a cheetah or bigger than a cub or smaller. again just my thoughts. we want to make this as fair as possible without tons of rules,id be willing to bet some of you stock cylinder guys put it to some cubs in this format of dune ready racing. slim

I think everone is missing the point. This outlaw setup is not for everone, thats why we are running the regular grudge style racing like normal. This class is for the guys that think they have a chance to go heads up in a wild kind of race that will take a good rider, good chassis tuneup, hard running motor, and a fairly nice pair.lol And there is no reason why the type of stock cylinders you guys are runnin shouldnt be a fair race with any -500cc motor under these rules,we have all seen multiple 4 mil stock cylinders go low to mid 4 sec with no bars already. Thats why its a additional 50_75 dollar buy in to one make the race a highly competitive race filled with the nastiest bikes, and riders. This is also why its in addition to the std. phills tnt so everyone can race. Nothing exciting about 4.50+ bikes running outlaw no bar. If you cant hang or need a handicap this race isnt for you.lol just my .02 slim

Ok guys, ive been going back and here is my ideas for the heads up race: 0-500: 78" max wheelbase no wheelie bars fully suspended front and rear no power adders m5 methonol and oxy fuel ok any clutch style id like to include a 10 mil and smaller supercub allowance(a 10 supercub is bigger than 500 but the hp is in the same range) rwyb 0-???: 78"max wheelbase no wheelie bars fully suspended front and rear no motor rules no power adder rules bring your best hope its enough.. all classes: 50-75 dollar buy in ladder style elimination first round is drawn out of a hat first round losers race to fill in any odd number spots single eliminaton pay out for winner and runner up. add anything you guys may want to add I will also be offering a free straight swingarm for the fastest banshee powered pass of the day or a Wheelman chassis credit of $50. thanks for all the good words guys. Here is a pic of the front shaw/spindle setup i use on my single arm chassis. It uses a tight tolerance bore .002 bigger than the shaw, the insert in the bottom of the shaw is drilled and taped for a 7/16 fine thread bolt. The insert in the shaw has a 1.00 thread making this a very strong mounting point for the spindle. All my spindles are turned in house and i offer 5/8(shown) or standard banshee tapered . In addition for added strenght all my shaw cups are counter boed to except the spindle making them very strong for those hard dune hits. shaw cup.
