Haha, they CAN be good shocks, however I am not a fan of them. Often times older Ohlins shocks are next to impossible to get parts for... I have a set of Ohlins right now for Nastyracing that I've been trying to find seals, for going on 4 months now. They're out there somewhere, but odds are I'll end up doing the same thing I did with the last set of old Ohlins I had, and I'll end up machining new seal heads to accept non-proprietary seals.
If they're not in good shape, they aren't worth much. Maybe 50-75 bucks. The unfortunate thing about Ohlins, is that you never really know what seals they need until you tear into them. Sometimes it's good news, sometimes it's not. It's all up to how much you want to spend/gamble.
In my somewhat educated opinion, I'd shop around for a good condition used set of Works shocks if you're on a budget.
