Just youtube "king of the hammers" it's a badass race in southern california. A mixture of desert racing and rock climbing/racing. Those guys just get out there and hammer down (pun intended) and have been known to fuck some shit up while doing it.

Sounds like you are right there, so why would you not go on friday and watch the actual race. I went last year and it was bad ass. Something about 800-900+ horsepower rigs wheeling over each other and just flat out getting some.

ODI hands down, why deal with glue and spray paint or hairspray or any other bullshit when you can just tighten a lock collar and never worry about them moving. That is until you get new bars and unlock them and they slide right off and right on to the new bars without buying more new grips.

So I just had Jeff make me a cover, and I must say the guy is impressive. He made an awesome looking cover in very little time and got it shipped out and to me in no time flat. My problem seems to be solved now so I will be there. Ended up having to change out the crank, I guess the Damn thing came a little out of phase causing it to fire a bit off as well as have a bit of a vibration.

It's normally pretty packed on halloween and good racing as well. But I did hear there was not much excitement on labor day which was the last big weekend up there. I plan on going with a bunch of others, but may or may not have my bike with me due to some unknown problem that I am trying to sort out.

Damn that's a tempting offer you are throwing out there, but a terrible thing for someone to actually do. Cam is a good dude and straightforward to those that actually do business with him. Not sure why people are up his ass just because he doesn't want to disclose every little thing he has figured out threw his own r&d. Let the man do his thing and help progress the sport. As long as he's not out there screwing people over. Which I can say from dealing with him, he is not out screwing people around.

I don't know about taking out the gussets, but have you thought about drilling holes throughout the frame? They can take out a decent amount of weight without messing with the integrity of the frame.

I'm not saying there aren't other factors like jetting and all the other little shit. That all plays a HUGE part. But the rods themselves = garbage. And not everyone is incapable of building and or assembling things such as motors for these things. Remember all the pros are normal people too and probably started working on these in there garages just like everyone else.

If you look at my pictures in that other thread you will also see that's exactly where my rod broke as well. But no no it can't be the shitty rods. Must just be because we didn't have "pro's" put the motors together. Fuckin joke

Not all of us were buying them because they were a cheaper part. I know myself, I bought the crank thinking it must have been a good crank considering the person I got it from. So I'm not sure why people keep basing there stories off of the cost. If cost was holding me back to skimp on that small of a difference then I would have never bought a banshee, hell even any atv for that matter.

The fact is yes he has sold those rods, on his cranks, but he obviously doesn't want to admit that again. Apparently he realized later that he could use better rods so he swithched. Which is good on his part. This is all my own thoughts and opinions on this, so if I'm totally off I'm sorry. I'm not trying to offend or blame anyone. I took care of my own problem and on my own dime and never blamed the seller of the parts. I'm just trying to help some others out because obviously those rods are not good quality like we all thought we were getting since they were coming from a respected guy in the business.
