  11. I am new to the banshees and just picked one up that blew the clutch out and the basket was also broke.. I took the old basket off and also the crank gear because they had shavings in between them.. So now i am going to install the stock basket with gear i got and the stock crank gears and clutch.. my question is that is there a certain way to install the basket and gear or just put it in? Also with the clutch do I just have to rotate between steel and friction plates? I heard someting about some arrows I see on there but not sure? I tried to download the ebook on here but wouldnt work.. Thanks guys you help is great..

I didnt split the case i used a seal pusher and it seemed to go in fine.. But anyways for future refences I was wondering if anyone knew where i could get a seal retainer for them or if they even sell them?

  20. Sorry guys I had my nephew typing it while I was washing my hands. Its not the idler gear that is fine. It is the crank gear and the gear behind clutch that got jammed.. I got the small crank gear if you know anyone has an old clutch basket i need one.. Any other advice? The pistons and that look good some carbon as usual it was rebubilt last year..
  21. ok guys i took my side cover off today and i have some issues. it seems the tip of the clutches broke and the basket broke a piece off and got caught between the clutch basket big gear and the gear to the right (idler gear?) anyways it chewed up the two gears a little bit and im guessing thats what happened.. i also took the top end apart and piston look good a lil black but nuttin bad. i couldnt get the jug all the way off because i couldnt move the pistons because of the gear im assuming.. So my questions is would i be better off rebuilding it or buying a used bottom end off ebay and using my top end.. Also do u thing i caused any damaged to the crank with this happening ?? thanks a million
  22. ok thnanks man ill let u know what i see
  23. so i wanna take the cover off by my left leg if sitting on bike or the right leg where shifter goes in?
  24. Hey guys I just picked up like a 98 banshee from a buddy of mine. It has stage four jet kit with exhaust, carb setup, etc.. and I bought it having this issue. My buddy said when he was driving it it was like the quad slammed on the brakes and stalled. Now when we try to start it here are the issues i have. 1. The clutch cable is tight (not sure if thats how it was before) but also the quad wont move at all when i push the shifter in and quad is in gear. 2. The kick starter in free until you get 2/3 of the way down then its like it is jammed. All the gears seem to shift ok and he said he took the jugs off and pistons was fine and everything and that they moved freely.. Any help appreciated greatly.. Maybe clutch basket??
