ok me and a buddy from work got the steering shaft off. Looked like someone had already beat the crap outta it and mushroomed the shaft that goes into the bearing. We used a dremel to smooth it and it came right out. Now i have one of those swing arm bolts that wont come out no matter what. That doesnt worry me though. The part on the frame for the steering shaft is bent. Has to be. Looks bent. Now i just gotta figure that one out to get the right angles and stuff. And make it so its strong since i dont wanna go through this again. I will know my shee really good if i survive all this though

Having a few Issues with my 95 Shee.... Need help
Smokestack replied to BANSHEEAHOLIC's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Yep. Try some new ones Adjustable power bands -
If it has been bent at the frame how can i tell? The shaft seems straight as far as i can tell. Its really hard to push it back against the frame. And when i do push it back the piece where it mounts to the frame moves a little with it. So it does seem like its bent

While tearing my shee apart i have a few issues. The steering stem wont come out. I took the bolt off the bottom and everything. I do have a clymers. Also. The top stem clamp was super tight. And when i got it lose the stem went forward like 3 inches. So im sure the frame is bent somewhere. Is there a way to fix this or just start looking for a new frame As you can tell i have started to strip the multi layers of paint already

Ok.. So today i tore the carbs apart since i got a jet kit. The mains were 310 pilots 27.5.....seems really high to me. Its looks all stock other than fmf fatty pipes. I went through the threads in the jetting thread..cant remember what the title was..but where you fill out the form. Searched for IN guys and it seems way rich. My plugs are jet black and it bogs alot. Mind you my compression is around 100 so its time for a top end. Im just kinda playin right now....since i know it will run better than what it is now. Anyhow. I threw in a 290 main and 25 pilot. Still seems way rich. I put in new plugs and warmed it up for a plug chop......followed all the directions but didnt even need to chop it as the plug was jet black when i took it out. the whole thing and soaked with fuel.... SO...am i just throwing stones at glass since the comp is so low? Or is the jetting that rich?

Cool thanks guys

Thats the plan. The hole is in the dent. So im just going to cut out the dent and all and have a shop patch it. Thanks for all the replies I hope to find someone around here that will do it. I went to a few shops and they all said they couldnt weld it SO........now i just gotta find someone that will. Or maybe buy a welder

Ok guys. I have a hole in my left side pipe from where it smashed into the motor mount. The two bottom mount bolts were gone. SO i got all new mounts. Good to go there. My question is since i dont have the cash for new pipes is. Would it be possible to just cut out the dent and hole and weld a peice of metal over it? I have used a few different types of JB-weld on it with no luck of course. When the hole is plugged it does run great. But once the jb comes off its loud and runs like crap . I just wanted to know if its possible before i waste the time looking for a good welder in my area.
