  1. Anyone have any ideas where i can either get the tool that the clymer manual shows or any other idea how to hold the inner race so i can get the bolt out? I have searched everywhere for that tool and cant find anything like it.
  2. Yeah its gotta come out. Only way i knew the piston was like that was i blew a crank seal on the tranny side. I was kinda shocked to see the cylinder and piston like that too
  3. Its tuff to see in the pics. But that piston was missing the clip and has the marks down the side of it.
  4. Anyone ever have one come out? I have searched and found nothing. But thats what happend to me. Looks like it came out and rode the piston on the side and left 2 deep grooves in the cylinder. Both rods where they mount to the crank are blue? Tons of play in them as well. Im guessing im totally screwed
  5. Thanks. And no as soon as i noticed it i stopped riding. I thought it was strange because it was running so good. I still had tranny fluid but not much. So i guess it started smoking and i rode it for around 10 minutes. Mainly just back to my truck. I already have the clymers.....so i guess im ready lol

  8. Well today was the first time i got to ride my shee after the winter tear down. I just painted everything and replaced all the suspension bearings and stuff like that. Only motor mods are the timing plate at +4 and some used stock carbs...mine had stripped caps..and some new reeds. It was running awsome today at the badlands. I rode for about 2 hours and the right pipe was smoking like crazy. I checked tranny fluid and it was almost gone. So im sure its a crank seal. Now i know my top end will need redone. Its only a little over 100psi both sides. I have never tore the motor apart. And now i have no money. So what kind of cost am i looking at for this? I will do the work myself but i dont have alot to spend. I pray my crank is ok. What other things should i look for? I hope to get by with just seals and hope it last this summer. I had planned on a rebuild this winter. But my first ride and this happens

  10. When mine were spinning like that i just put them together and used a ratchet strap wrapped around them. Tighten the strap and it held the ball joint so i could tighten the nut Worked perfect

  12. Ok and a side note my duratraX flashpoint was always within 1 degree as his 300 dollar snapON So all good there . And i dont know about the rad. I do have alot of bent fins. Its a 93 bike so im sure orig from fac crap.
  13. Ok thanks for the reply. I think im ok I just thermo shot everything I have a little gun for my RC stuff but the guy across the street brought his snap on gun. I get 160 on both hoses coming from the motor. I didnt to the top one. And the rad reads 170 at the top and drops to 140 at the bottom. Does that mean i am backwards? That was after about a 20 minute idle in the front yard Head reads 190 both sides. Water pump cover reads 170. Pipes read 320 but chrome throws all kinda readings...but they are too hot to touch. And before i could wrap my hands around them with no issues Is this ballpark or is the rad shot? This is all at idle..i didnt ride at all. Just kept blipping the throttle and that seemed to cool it down. Oh and the temp here right now is 47F so its not hot at all.
  14. Oh and i have good smoke and carbs synced. I even added some oil to the tank and its the same This is driving me nuts
  15. Well im all stock with TORS removed. Air box has alot of holes and no lid with KN filter. I had the bike all apart for winter rebuild. Now that its back together its getting HOT...really HOT. It seems like it over heats in around a minute of idle time I kept the rad cap off and let it run. Tons of flow and no bubbles. I have stock carbs with no tors with 27.5 pilot and 330 mains. Only motor mods was new carbs and reeds and timing plate set to +4. I tore it apart a few times now to check it was all ok and right. I cant find a air leak to save my life. Yet i start it and it starts right up. Runs great. Tons of power. but over heats really fast
  16. I have fmf fatty pipes and they had alot of rust. I used my power ball with some mequiars metal polish. Shined them right up

  20. I didnt strip my frame worth a damn but i painted it with the engine paint with ceramic. You will need to bake it good with a heat gun but once you do its some tuff paint. And chemical resistant
  21. After my build my handle bars are crooked when i go straight. Have a clymers but wanted to see if any of you had a easier way to set it right A level and some string? Im going cross eyed tryin to do it by sight lol
  22. I have got alot of stuff from Minkia38 and never had a issue. Always a pleasure to deal with. So your starting a motor city atv website?
