IS MY JETTING OFF OR DO I NEED A PUMP?
SLOPOKE21 replied to SLOPOKE21's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
so what you guys are telling me is to lean up my pilot and drop the needle down a little bit?? your right it does take a long time for the fuel to reach my pj's, but if im at WOT is it really going to matter how long it takes for the fuel to get there? also there is no kind of cutting out or anything in 5th. i have never really wound it out to far in 5th but i have a 2-5 override and 14-41, and most of the time once i hit 5th i let out of it. my plugs dont look to bad either. ill see if i can get some pics up of them to see what you guys think. i am new to alky as well so i am still learning a lot. the bike pulls really hard no bogs off the line seems to clear out fine even though it doesnt really seem to load up like some other bikes i have seen. before i took the bike to texas i never noticed the raw fuel coming out and i didnt seem to have this running out of fuel problem so if anything i would figure that i should just drop down the pj's right? i only went down one size and it didnt seem to get any better so maybe its just low on fuel in the bowl and the pilots dont have enough fuel and its throwing it off?? -
IS MY JETTING OFF OR DO I NEED A PUMP?
SLOPOKE21 replied to SLOPOKE21's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Well before I mess with it to much more I'm gonna put a pump on it and see if that takes care of it before I start racking my brain with the jetting. -
So I got my cub back together and I went to texas to ride for the 4th. I went from about 1500ft to 3800ft elevation. I had to replace my flywheel and stator before I went so I did not get to ride it in cali before my trip so I don't know if this was happening before the elevation or not. I get to the dunes and make a pass to see how everything was going and I notice that when I let off the throttle it seems like my bike is running out of fuel and still idling really high. I blip the throttle a bitand it seems to calm it down. It is dumping raw fuel out the pipes but with the high idle after a run I was scared to lean it much. I did drop my powerjets from 157.5 to a 155 but it didn't seem to help. My carbs are 39 pwk's with .120 dump, .110 mains, air screw 1.5 out, stock needle with clip in center, and 62 pilot. I also have one float removed as well. My question is am I running out of fuel at the end of my run or the fact that I'm super rich doing this?

x2. If someone wants it bad enough i don't think its going to matter if the key is there or not.

i got a ported 4 mil cub that i just put on alky and i was trying to figure out what length swing arm to put on it. i am going to be mostly hill shooting and some occasional racing on a track, may even be on a paved track every now and then. i want something long enough so if i go bigger on my motor that i wont have to end up buying a new swinger. i was thinking like a +10 or +12 but i keep getting so many different answers i just wanted to see what some of you guys thought. i weigh about 225 and have 14-42 gearing. i was told i could get away with a +6 and some 8 or 9 paddles but i just dont see the front end staying down to well. i want to try and get this done by memorial day as it will be my first weekend on the bike with the porting, alky, and override so i want to be able to go out and not have to worry about the front end staying down. i already had this problem once when i first built my cub and dont want to deal with it again.
-
thats what i was told to run on my bike but with some 8-9 paddles but i just dont see the front end staying down to well with that setup. thanks for the input guys
-
those 12 paddles didnt hurt your top end any? i should have a pretty strong engine as i just got it ported and put on alky. i just dont want to buy a set of tires and a swingarm and them not be the right one. i am probably going to go with a +12 but i was hoping to get some more responses. nobody else out there has any more input?

i got a ported 4 mil cub on alky, 39 pwk's, shearer in frames, 17cc domes. i was trying to figure out what length swing arm to put on it. i am going to be mostly hill shooting and some occasional racing on a track, may even be on a paved track every now and then. i want something long enough so if i go bigger on my motor that i wont have to end up buying a new swinger. i was thinking like a +10 or +12 but i keep getting so many different answers i just wanted to see what some of you guys thought. i weigh about 225 and have 14-42 gearing.

well i weigh about 225. i probably wont be on a groomed track to often but just wanted to have the struts just in case. the swinger is a non-linkage type, and i will be running some 22" 12 paddles with a 71-72 RO on an 8x8 wheel. whats the deal with the 400ex shocks and will that get my a-arms where they need to be, or will there be some other modifications i need to do to the front end?

OK SO I GOT A 4MIL CUB WITH DRAG PORT, 17CC DOMES, BOYSEN REEDS, 39 PWK'S ON ALKY, 2-5 OVERRIDE. I WILL BE PUTTING A +12 WITH SOME 12 PADDLES AND I WANT TO KNOW WHAT LENGTH STRUTS I WILL NEED AND WHAT KIND OF DIFFERENCE DOES THE LENGTH MAKE? ALSO ANY INPUT YOU GUYS GOT ON SOME MARVIN'S WOULD BE HELPFUL AS WELL. THE ONLY THING I HAVE DONE TO THE BIKE SO FAR IS ENGINE WORK AND NOW I NEED TO START LOOKING INTO THE SUSPENSION. I KNOW I SHOULD'VE THOUGHT ABOUT THE SUSPENSION BEFORE BUT I JUST WANTED TO GO FAST AS THIS IS MY FIRST BANSHEE SO I JUST GOT A LITTLE CARRIED AWAY WITH ENGINE WORK I THINK.

BANSHEE DRAG PARTS
SLOPOKE21 replied to PACIFIC NW BANSHEE's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
how much for the swinger and carrier? -
Yeah I think I'm gonna have to switch cuz I think the full is a little to much for me right now and how I want to ride it. Its my only bike and I'm gonna need to be able to ride it around some and so my girl can still ride it.
-
Hey thanks for all the help. I just need to realize that its not a duneable and that I'm building a drag bike is what my problem is I think. This is my first banshee build and I still got a lot to learn. Again thanks for the help.

Ok the backloading thing was my next question. So I went to second and I might have let off for a couple second maybe and that's when it locked up. So I can't backload a full override at all or should it have been fine? I only went about 500 yards at the most.
