I am selling my 2001 banshee. Just don't ever ride it anymore, and it isn't doing anything but taking up space in the shop. here is a list of mods - Ported cylinders (toxic racing machines) - milled head (toxic racing machines) - wiseco pistons, 64.75mm - trued and welded crank, stock stroke - fmf gold series fatty's w/ powercore 2 silencers - hinson clutch basket - v force reeds - keihn flat slide carbs (38mm?) - lonestar +2 rear axle - +2 a-arms (lonestar?) - works dual rate shocks w/remote reservoirs - full bore plastic front and rear - renthal fatbars w/ TAG bar riser That is all I can think of right now, I am sure I am forgetting some small odds and ends. I put a fresh top end on this thing last summer and have probably ridden it about 2 hours since then. Overall it is a pretty solid bike. The rear grab bar is bent a little. The bike is in Salisbury NC, about 45 minutes north of Charlotte. I don't really get on the forums that much anymore, so if you don't mind shoot me an e-mail at [email protected]. If you want to you can also call me, my # is 704-202-5272. $2650 OBO

I don't know why the shock looks like that in the pic, it is definitely not bent. And that pic was taken before the crash. If it would have been on asphalt my face and shoulder would be all messed up. Today I am basically sore all over, and my foot still hurts so I have to limp my happy ass to class. I will fix the shee next time I go home, shouldnt take me too long.

so I was home from college this weekend and did a lot of riding. So today before I head back to college I decide I better wash the shee. So I hit up the quarter wash, clean her up good, then take it back to the shop. Then I say to myself "I'm gonna ride up and down the driveway a time or two before I leave. Took off down the driveway hauling ass, wasn't paying attention and let a right had curve sneak up on me. Needless to say I didnt make the turn, so I run off the driveway into the grass where there is a hump that is about 2 ft tall. I hit the hump way to fast, the nose of the shee dug in and sent it end over about 3 and a half times. An older couple on the road saw the whole thing happen and thought I had just killed myself, lol. Luckily I didn't get seriously hurt, and the banshee didn't get totaled either. Total damage to the shee: 1 broken ball joint (aftermarket a-arms with removable joints) popped 1 headlight out (popped back into place when I got back to the shop) The part of the frame that the grab bar bolts to got bent down, but I should be able to bend it back into place and reinforce it some. and the grab bar got bent Total damage to me: Hurt pride possible broken bone in my foot

hey, dont talk shit about blasters that is what I learned to ride on, and I still ride the shit out of that thing
-
im glad they dont check that crap in NC I have no idea who my shee is registered too all they give you in NC is a certificate of origin, which is pretty worthless unless you are the original owner but i would say your best bet would be a wire wheel on a grinder

My friend is on of the best welders in the state, he has been welding all his life. If anybody can do it, he can. I am sure he will tig weld it, so there won't be any splatter or anything. I will grind down the excess weld then take it to a professional machinist that I know to get it bored Like I told the guy welding it, he can't ruin the sleeve any worse than it already is I will get some pics of the finished product... wish me luck
-
well there is a definite line where the sleeve and the cylinder come together is that what the cast in sleeve looks like? any pics would be awesome
-
So basically I am a dumbass, I had my cylinders in the back of my bronco and somehow one of the piston skirts got cracked (ported cylinders, thin walls) I took the cylinder to one of my friends and he is going to try to weld the crack, then I am going to have the cylinder bored my friend is a damn good welder and has done some pretty amazing stuff, so we will see how that goes BUT if it doesn't work then I think I am going to try to re-sleeve the cylinders. My question is how can i tell if the sleeves are stock or replacement sleeves? I have access to presses and whatnot so I am pretty sure I could get the sleeves in and out and then just match the ports in the sleeve to what I currently have.
-
new piston on left, old piston on right the ports on the old piston are a lot bigger than the ones on the new pistons will this change the performance of my banshee? Should I have a machine shop mill the new pistons to match the old ones? also, the little port thing above the wristpin has a slightly different shape, does this affect performance? both pistons are wiseco
-
never thought about that, lol
-
you could get the penetration with a mig welder, just turn the wire speed down and the heat up tig would be best though
