Dont try the tape, its a waste of money"been there, done that"go on cascades web page and under exhaust it will say heat wraps.you can see some of them on my motor pic.
I had the same problem. I knew I was buying new carbs a few months down the road,so I just put some JB weld under the cap and screwed it down,it worked till I upgraded.
Are you getting fuel to the plugs?I'm not a jetting guru, but i think when you left 2100ft from vegas to pismo at sea level, it should be runnin a little leaner.
hey style, I doubt its your fuel from vegas, I bring it from vegas all the time with no probs. If your bikes have been runnin fine till now ,it's probably something simple like plugs or clogged air filter. I would start there.
I'm running the same setup as you are sleeper and I run 158 main 50 pilot and a CGJ needle.I know its an odd ball needle, but the CEL would bogg at 3/4 throttle. My elavation is 2100 feet.
Both pair of mine sucked!had to drill a hole in the right one cause it wouldn't line up"off by an inch" and my other pair i have to body slam that bitch to get over the right jug.
After shredding 2 right side crank bearings and multiple cushion destuctions,I switched to the straight cut, spring tension basket.Havn't had a single problem since.
