I think matt right above your post has some 450 shocks for sale.

they look to be machined for a 4mil setup,but I believe the blaster pistons should be a 9degree angle,i could be wrong though.

I had the 1988 foot pegs on mine and they were an inch shorter than the newer models,so I switched them out and they line right up now.

check your adjustment first.

I had the exact same setup as you and I had the sputtering problem as well and it turned out to be the pickup gap. I built a 4 mil cub for a buddy of mine and it sputtered real bad and it turned out to be the CDI,I plugged mine in and it was fine.
