allrighty I ordered my parts from e-bay looking 5-8 days I guess. today it is Thursday so prolly wont see them until next Thursday.(7 days) if anything is trashed in there when I open it I will be sure to post some pics. I am fairly mechanicaly inclined, I have a Clymers book......Will there be any instructions with the pancake bearing? I am not concerned with water pump, I can handle that I think. Is there new hardware to hold the impeller to case or do I reuse old knock pin? What are the chances if me having to replace the seal? If I pull the impeller out can I get it back without damaging the seal? Hopefully after these clutch plates are back in ill be :bolt:
-
allrighty got my heavy duty EBC clutch plates, clutch cover gasket, waterpump gasket, and kickstarter seal. next on the list is tranny oil (to soak plates and change) 50/50 coolant (hasnt been changed in while) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chariot-Banshee-Coolant-ULTRA-HIGH-Flow-Impeller-KIT-/280847410173?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4163cf63fd&vxp=mtr and http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chariot-Clutch-Pusher-Pancake-Bearing-Yamaha-Banshee-Stock-aftermarket-clutch-/280866497251?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4164f2a2e3&vxp=mtr Wont do any ball welding and hopefully mine looks good.
-
when you welded yours, did you grind it all down smooth or just tacked the ball to end? I know there is a post with pics i tried to search it, but i couldn't find....
-
I don't want to sound completly assanine but............. are you people messing with me???? do i weld it or not???? Trolling???
-
Well maybe i am wrong but i remember people welding the ball or if you got lucky it would weld itself with heat. I thought the the ball was getting hot on bikes and self welding itself or shattering, if your lucky it doesn't shatter and cause problems I thought there used to be a pinned post on how to take it out and weld it the correct way so it doesn't happen on its own or shatter and leave metal in your motor.
-
Well its time to replace plates. I have new ebc fibers, cover gasket, kick start seal, water pump gasket. While im in ther i want to take the rod out and weld the ball on...... I want to install a billet water pump impelller....... Is their any other seals or items i should look into without going to a lock up clutch????

planned on camping out just west of holly road on the south side of s-22 near shade covers and restrooms. We will be putting a wooden pallet at s-22 and the unmarked dirt road just before heading up the hill on s-22. after turning on the unmarked road you should see a chain link fence on your right. I have a blue shee with shark mouth bumper and skin graphics, white and green pop-up trailer.

allright ill break down and get the eliminator kit. gives me good reason to remove carbs and clean. For now ill just leave the box unplugged. if i unplug the switches at carbs with the bike still run good? im going to eliminate the tors, but if i unplug the switches will it prevent the bike from dieing on me while im on the trail?(could just unplug on the trail if it does)Willit work without? I dont see why it wouldnt worked with unplugged, all the moving componets are still hooked up. Ya i dindt think that it wouldnt prevent some one from holding the throttle open while in gear when i posted that.
-
unplugging the black box worked. Does this mean the black box is bad or the switches on the carbs? my clymer manuel says to take a ohmeter to the wires coming out of the black box connector test those and test the wires at the connectors going to the carb switches to check im supposed to open throttle all the way and see if there is resistance. I dont have a ohmmeter right now. Is ther any other way to check the switches? ill gt a ohmeter this weekend.

No I havnt removed the t.o.r.s. I really prefer to leave it on Because my girlfreind likes to ride the bike and the system used to work fine. Why would it just happen without any warnings. I am going to unplug the little box under front fender then start it and see if shee still bogs.

Im out riding my bike i was about 30 mins into ride coasted down rocky hill bike in gear with clutch pulled in get to bottom let out clutch bike backfires them stalls. I coast to bottom find nuetrel start it, as soon as i hit the throttle it died, i repeated this. the parking brake is not activated. Bike will start and idle hit gas and dies wont rev up, doesn't bog like break is on just dies out. Got home(pushed bike then got picked up by buddy) I put some used plugs in it to see if she start i only kicked it like 5 times before girlfreind was calling me in, i put bike away. If i fouled the plugs i wouldn't think it would start and idle, but i don't know what else it is. My filters were clean i keep high maintenace on my bike. maybe main jet clogged or bad plugs? did my stater take a sh** on me? Any sugestions?

Klotz flex drive all the way. I got my bike used from someone i know. He handed me half bottle of coolant and some honda oil that had less then 1/4 bottle left. I stated u changed fluids he said yes. I knew he changed radiator fluid because he had the old radiator ther will hole in it. (I got knew rad and he installed). I take bike home rode it 2 tanks of gas then on 3rd tank (this was over 2 weeks time, not 3 tanks one day) the bottom end started really squeling like a banshee. I ended up checking and ther was no oil on dipstick ( i like a dumba** went over the whole bike before rode it, the only thing i failed to check was oil cuz he handed me that bottle. So i pull drain plug, out comes less then 1/4 qt of metal flake grey syrup. Worst burnt smell ever. Flushed with little bit of klotz then filled it. Started bike by the time the motor warmed up the noise left the bike. Drained the klotz (didnt look bad) Filled with klotz, Bike runs good no noise. No clutch slipping. I got the full synthetic klotz 20-50 for my 07klx110, runs beautiful, shifts great bike pulls hard. Ive ran the gearsaver for years i do like that oil but when i went for the klotz i will pay the extra money for that little reassurance.

Just got back went saturday sunday and monday. Had a great time perfect weather for night riding hot between noon and 4 but cooled off nice rest of time. Dunes were not beat up to bad. Plenty of fresh dunes to carve.

Its rainy something nasty right now and is supposed to all week. The weekend it is supposed to clear up( Hopefully) but that means the trails will be nastier then heck* out at Johnson Valley. The area is surrounded by dry lake beds that wont be so dry. Still heading out sunday if its not raining!!!

I need to replace my clutch plates in my bike.I was wondering if Hinson makes plates, friction plates, and springs for stock basket, or if i should just by a barnette kit. I dont have money for a lockup and im not drag racing(well sometimes). My damn axle carrier lockup nut keeps coming loose and i had it REALLY tight. What is out ther that works? Has anyone used these tires??? Artrax mxt tire 20x11x9 They are cheap on motosport online I only want them as a temporary tire until i replace my rims.
