Why should you need to put gas down the cylinders to get it started? Hope that gas had 2 stroke oil mixed in with it otherwise you just washed the topend down dry.

Good price. I think i payed $170 for mine off ebay. Wish i had the money to do a 4 mil the first time around. Didn't know at the time once you port, 4 mil crank is out of the question. Guess that will be a future build.

That's what i was thinking about the spare parts. In a pinch i could even rob parts from one for the other if need be.

I've been thinking about getting a second quad for the wife, or brother, or anyone else i decide to take along would have something to ride. I was looking at the raptor 660 or suzuki ltz 400. Now that i've been riding the shee for a month i got on my buddys ltz and realized although i used to like riding it, now i think it sucks big donkey balls compared to the shee. I'm wanting to do a complete new buildup of the banshee i'm riding now and i figure i can take the better parts between the two (the one i own and the one i'm thinking about buying), make a good all around bike then taking the other down for the rebuild. So am i crazy for wanting a second banshee or should i just get a four poke?

I would probably buy used if i found the right deal, but i want to buy new. Hope it will be the only set of shocks i have to buy.

I've been busy building a shopping list for tax time and i'm not sure where i should look for elka shocks. Who has the best deals. I've seen them on ebay but i would rather buy from a dealer (any site sponser elka dealers?).

I just got done rebuilding my basket case banshee. After rebuilding the bottom end, top end and going through the bike to make it rideable i spent just as much if not more than i would have just buying a running shee. Had fun with the build but if cost is the reason for buying a broken quad it is something to think about. Ends up costing alot more than you first anticipate. Having said that it sounds like a good deal. Good luck with it and have fun.

it's hard to tell from pictures you will just have to slowly spin the clutch basket around and check for even the smallest of nicks in the gear. I've tried dressing the nicks in the past and it has never worked for me.

I second this. I've found this on my blaster and now the shee i'm putting together is the same way. The broken pieces of spring get picked up between the two gears and it's game over. Sounds like a motor knock and the only way to fix it is a new basket.

Good price on this...wish i had the extra cash at this very second. BUT on a side note every time i have ever checked their site this gauge is always out of stock. Did they stop making them?

I'm no expert but the add says it is for use with a 4 mil crank. Not sure how you think boring the cyl gives you a 4 mil stroke?

Well my plans changed. I've borrowed a kfx 700 for the weekend so we will be camping out this weekend at red river. Would be cool to meet some of you guys if any of you end up out there.

Do you mean bulcher? I'm in denton and we ride rocky ridge from time to time but it is so small compared to red river and lake murray that we only go when we want an easy ride. We are definately going to red river the 14th and 15th, guys i ride with have a trip planned for the 7th and 8th but my shee won't be ready by then.
