  1. hes a one stop shop. he's gonna do the work and order all the parts and gaskets in himself and just let me know when its ready to bolt back on. ive told him to go for wiseco's or sumthing similar tho
  2. ok i pulled the barrels and pistons but dont have the correct bore measuring equipment and its reaaly hard trying to measure a bore with a vernier. i measured the piston and that seemed to be in spec so with the process of illimination it must be the bore thats out of spec so they've gone of the the machine shop for a rebore and new pistons, better safe than sorry is what my old mum would say. lol thanks again to all for your help
  3. yeah i see what ya mean now. thanks fb
  4. ok thanks thats just what i needed to know. a definite no. lol ile pull the barrels and measure the pistons and bores, see which on is out of spec. cheers all ps whats a hone? a bore skim?
  5. cool so if its round then its just the next size up pistons ?
  6. so if my liners are ok could i get away with just buying an 0.20 piston set and not bother with the rebore?
  7. ok so im in the middle of a bit of a "revamp" on my shee and ive took the motor out to give it a good clean and a paint and some power upgrades. whilst its out i thought id check the liners and pistons for any obvious wear or scoring and bore sizes. as luck would have it the liners seem to be in very good shape and so do the piston crowns and it hasnt been bored as the liners both read 64.16mm , one of the domes has some pitting but thats not an issue as the head is getting changed for a cool head. ANYWAY ive wound the engine round to half stroke so both pistons meet in the middle and ive given them a bit of a wiggle from front to back-side to side to check for play. SO the question is how much play should i expect? none? 1/4mm-1/2mm?
  8. dont mean to hijack BUT if your thinking of changing cages this might be a help. has anyone heard of or tried chariot performance cages? they come with boyesen reeds. heres a listing clicky clicky
  9. ive run both stock reeds and vforce 3's on a pretty stock shee and the difference is pretty unbeleivable. with the vforce ones the throttle respose is lightning quick compared to stock and theres a bit more low down power to be had, especailly with a +4 timing advancer
  10. lol wow is this even a serious thread????
  11. have you tried swapping the plugs over? i had this is few weeks ago and it was a crappy plug, new ones sorted it straight out
  12. ok so i took a couple of pics of the port job. like i said it looks quite aggressive but very tidy
  13. not quite sure on what kind of port it is yet. ive been looking at some port jobs on ebay and it looks quite aggressive compared to most although in comparison to most it does look very clean and well done it also has some extra boost ports at the sides as well. ile post sopme pics up later see what you guys think.
  14. ok thanks lads. i thought the oe shift star could be modified
  15. trying to find a couple of "how 2's" but cant seem to find em. can any one point me in the right deriction please. looking for shift star mod and compression testing.
  16. YEP NOT A PROBLEM.....AND SHIPPING TO THE US IS ONLY
  17. oh yeah i forgot to add the stator only has one half of the windings. i take it this is a race stator then and the missing windings would be for lights?
  18. ok so i got real bored and curious as to what kit and mods my shee actually has so i ripped it to bits today to have a good nosey at everything and check the ports and liners and stuff. the barrels do have the paul turner logo ectched in and the word NATIONAL underneath and the ports do look quite aggressive compared to standard, the workmanship also looks very good. all the liners and skirts all look in good shape too. it has 36mm kiehin pwk's, duncan billet manifolds with velocity spiltters. it has the full fmf fatty gold series too BUT what surprised me the most was when i took the reed cages out they were STANDARD now is it just me or does that seem a tad stooopid? wont they be holding all the power back? their not even ported. it also had a 15t front sprocket on which for a mx quad seems a bit high. expialns why all the power was top endy any thoughts??
  19. oh yeah of course. never thought of that. thanks
  20. started to strip my banshee today just to be nosey and to get it ready for the decal and seat cover kit onbly to realise once the old crappy seat cover was off that the seat foam has seen better days. looked on fleabay and theres only full seat. SOOOO if any one has got a seat foam for sale or can put me on to a dealer who will ship internationally i would be forever in your debt
  21. ok mate thanks for the tip. im gonna pull the engine out soon any way and have a good nosey round i dont even k now what reeds its got in it yet as ive not had itlong and really do need to know what its got before i start buying things and making it my own. CHEERS ALL
  22. yeah thats the one...thats excatly wot it said on the tin....paul turner national. so do we know wot kind of porting this is then? mild? aggressive? mid range? top end?
  23. :yelrotflmao: pure class lmfao
  24. aaaahhhhhhhhhh right i see. yes they have the pt signature inscribed on the side so yes they are stock barrels. so they've obviously had the pt port job. havent got a clue wot kid of port job tho but the bike was set up for supoermoto and doesnt seem to have much power below the powerband so ile just have to see if i can get a little bottom end back with heads and timing etc thanks
