  1. someone probably removed the coating before you got it it's a coating from the factory, but i'm just not sure if it's friction coating or not. should be covered all the way around and look like black paint. i wouldn't scuff it off, but do what you want.
  2. yah, forgot to add that i blasted them too
  3. vht ceramic headder paint. you have to bake it in cycles. check the white pipes
  4. ok, first, you will need an ohm meter. maesure between the power and ground terminals on the coil. should be .28-.38 ohms. next, measure between the ground terminal and each of the plug caps individually. 4700-7100 ohms. if you get a bad reading, remove the cap, and test at the wire. still bad, remove the wire, and test directly at the coil. if the coil checks out good, make sure it's getting good ground. the next to test would be the plugs at the cdi. the 4 wire plug goes to the stator. should read 14-20 ohms between red and green, around 110 between red/white & green/white. the 5 wire plug goes to everything else. with the key, and kill switch on, measure between all the wires, none should have continuity, except the orange, which is the coil. if all that checks out, remove your stator cover, and check the pickup gap should just fit a buisness card, also shouldn't be any junk or rust in there btw- love the name. what i be?
  5. i belive they are only 30 watts. in which case, yes, but you should add a battery or they will flicker/change color. stock stator is 70 watts, i belive
  6. u watch the whole thing? it gets worse
  7. maybey i should get some light covers like that- everyone keeps callin it "RC" anyways
  8. haha, they do look good at first shot, if you don't know what you're lookin at
  9. will a piped 2004 650dsmx beat me in the snow? trail/mx/hillshot/ open, but limited to about 60mph on snow i just have older fmf gold series pipes, 40 tooth, 22"ers, but will be goin +4, 22cc domes, and power reeds. he also has about 60 lbs. on me. i'll be eventually repairing his aftermarket cdi, if the icu's not fried, if that'll make a diff.
  10. will the fit a ptr powerhead?
  11. you put new plugs in right? 100 is low, hold the throttle open, and kick it like 15 times, untill the needle stops going up. check both cylinders. what's your altitude?
  12. if you get a good deal at an electroplating shop, why not throw your current pipes in with the res of the stuff your having chromed? kinda messed up to sell someone stockkers, though. if you keep watching, the guy's junk falls out :yucky: don't know why i couldn't stop watching- i have the same prob watching stuff like rotten.com. look up "2 girls 1 cup" and watch without puking.... i dare ya edit==>warning! it's xxx rated @ thatsphucked.com and the site says 21+ only
  13. once you get the engine warmmed up to ridding temp, adjust the screws in and out untill it idles the highest. in really cold temps, it's normall to have to warm it up with the choke out for a little bit. if it wants to run at less than 1 turn out from completely closed, you should go up to the next pilot size. edit==>and, of course, have the choke off while adjusting
  14. you ever open those carbs up and give them a good cleaning?
  15. ngk caps are for the stock wires. just stop by an atv/sno-go shop, they should be behind the counter. i know you said it's jetted for 0, but what jets are in there? should be 30's on the pilot and 310-340 on the mains. diff needle too, though the stockker will work. what's your 20?
  16. ey, where u ice race in ak?
  17. i believe it's a friction coating from the factory
  18. certified restoration parts man, what a steal! :yelrotflmao: i'd give 200 for t6's in a heartbeat, unless i decide to port first. that guy hurt my eyeballs i think i'm gonna go fill out a form now
  19. either the cap or wire to that plug
  20. yah, i just got a huge cold crack, so i'm gonna replace the red with yellow and just use the black because my words are faded
  21. the r/s box could be a little more sensitive on the pickup, making it fire to start. what's the gap? also, it might be a jetting issue. what about my q's? you can pickup a newer style cdi and harness used pretty cheap too, but i don't think that's the prob. i could be wrong
  22. i set the airscrews where the bike wants them, then go up or down if it's more than2, or less than 1. just my 2 cents
  23. for fairly bad, but not deep scratches, 800 to get them out, then 1200-1600, and you can shine it up by hand
