ok i found some stuff out the nut and screw is gone.... how do i get another one?? i made a circle around that thing that is missing.

ok when i start my banshee it will spit and backfire out of the right side and today it shot a flame out of the pipe so i shut it down and didnt start it again. thats problem number 1. problem number 2 is my shifter shaft that flat head bolt you guys showed me is gone i guess when the guy that had it before me wrecked the motor and it snapped off. well what i am getting at is when i go to shift it it will only catch the shift star with the bottom on the prong thing you shift with is that normal?? i was just goin to buy a brand new one would that fixthe problem?

did you count right? haha not saying you dont know how to count. but mine is hard to read looks like a H but it is an M wich would make it a 91. And your model cant be a 1980 they didnt start the banshee till '87 so just go back out there and take a light with you so you can see better and use a sheet of paper to follow you counting.

yeah i took it apart and everything is good i just have alot of slop in the shifter i was thinking a new shifter shaft would that help? if not how do i adjust it?

I am suprised the gum held on that long how long have you had the bike like that? that is why when ever i ride in the woods i take a little tool kit in my backpack. extra plugs some tubing, extra gas line you know stuff like that.

Ok how do i tighten up that shift star? Like when i pullthe clutch cover will it be right there or do i have to take more stuff off to get to it? a walk through would be nice so i dont mess anything up (first time doing this) any help would be awesome

Oil is no problem we have alot of it and coolant,we have a shit load of coolant about 10 gallons haha same way with oil. Ok i will check it out tomorrow and see what's up. will this also tighten up the play in my shift lever?cuz it is bad.

do i have to split the cases? sorry for all the questions i have never had a banshee before and all the stuff i buy is always new this is the only used quad i have. but any help would be sweet thanks much brian

Ok finally got my banshee running and took it on its first ride and i cant downshift. It up shifts fine but there is alot of play in the shifter. The only way i can downshift is if i turn the bike off get off and rock it back and forth then it will down shift. Any thoughts?? thanks much brian

I found this website that trades in your old toomey pipes for new ones. so i might trade up my t-4's for t-6 or t-5, for 275 brand new you cant beat that are those good pipes?? i see alot of people with those pipes. The t-5 and t-6's are the same price so i will just go with the t-6's plus they look cool.

Ok i found the website that does the trade in. If you have the t-3, t-4,or the t-5 you can upgrade to t-6's. They come in chrome and steel finish, chrome is 100 bucks more. I am guessing all you have to do is go to www.powerbrokerz.com and click on the pipe upgrade, add the pipes you want to your cart and checkout. I am also guessing they will give you further instructions on how to send your pipes in. and they send you brand new t-6's for a small price of $275 for steel finish or 375 for chrome. in my eyes this is a really great deal if you want a new set of pipes. But you only send in your old t-3 t-4 or t-5 pipes and stinger tube only (keep your silencers)

ok i didnt know if something was wrong with my shifter shaft. also i am getting my tax return soon and i want to do some mods to my shee, I already have toomy t-4's and silencers, I am a trails/open fields rider, i was thinking of boring it over dont want to go to crazy but i want more power.

well that is the problem, it is just like this U shaped thing and the clutch cable sits in. i am goin to go look at it tomorrow to see if i can make something. And i have another question when my bike is in nuetral how much play (up and down) should be in the shifter?? I have about a 1/2 inch is that too much?

yeah that was not the part. I was thinnking i could drill a hole and put a piece of metal with a hole in it to hold the cable, do you think that would work? And for the piece i didnt know it was broke till i cleaned my shop space all up so it is probly in the trash :ermm:

Ok i will try to explain this best i can, It is the fork like holder on the top of the engine case that the end of the clutch cable clips or sits in, well one of the prong things broke off how do i fix it??. It is the thing between the carbs looks like a U. I hope i got this right if not i will update

those look to be a 1 piece fender.. I am looking into getting some black or red plastics, but i want full fronts so i can cut my own
