sorry if this a repeat but i couldnt find anything. ok when i was doing my tors removing etc i checked the needles. well theres 6 clips in there and one side was 3 from the top the other side was 4 from the top. so at first i went 4 down and ran it seemed to be alittle to rich(bogging out) so i moved them to the 3rd notch from the top. i also noticed that stocks have 5? you think these needles are from the kit that came with the t6s? with a 300 main and 27.5 pilot at 530 above sea level think i should go with the 3rd from the top?
Thanks for any advice.lol
i took some more metal off and got em to idle damn near perfect. my one sides pilot circut isnt working all that great i just cleaned it but i need to take it all apart and do it. but it ran just like it did before i did this soooo i must be getting close. now i just need to do alittle bit more tweaking.lol
i got everything on and working good. but it wont idle with the screws all the way in. i think i might need to get the slides up some more. how much of a gap should there bee at the bottom of the slides?? plus i think its gonna take awhile to tweak em back to normal with the thumb throttle adj. and the syning etc.
got it out and i was able to use the tap still. did the left side perfectly fine. going to go get the right side other carb from my buddy so il be able do that side. will post pics up in a lil bit
Ok as some people may know i was installing the tors kit and was tapping the holes for the new idle screw and i snapped the tap off. so know im looking for a set of stock carbs with the idle screws already installed.lmk what u got
Thanks
i cant get to it. me and my buddys tried hour 2 hours last night and the only way to get it out is to drill it out with a crobin bit. which i dont have. and then i need that kinda tap which i cant get also.
ya a buddy of mine works at a machine shop and he was suprised that a tap broke off in a cast aluminum carb. and no i figured it was a pretty soft metal i didnt need to. but i guess that was a leason learned
i got around to hanging new flouresent lights in my garage and after that i figured id install the new tors eliminator kit. all was going well and i was just tapping the new idle screw hole and was almost to the point to backing out of it and pop the tap broke off enough to where i couldnt get to it. and all the drill bits i have are not good enough to drill thru the tap. its a 6mm with a 75 pitch. i was soooo pissed i didnt know what to do. but my buddy luckly has a spair set laying around and hes giving them to me so now i just gotta find a tap for it. tom is sunday and not to many places are going to be open and monday is a holiday and they wont be open. man it was a good day until this.
i also use an impact for the puller and never had a prob. i usually just thread it in as far as i can snug it up and hit the impact and boom it pops right off.
ok il do that for ya. but the best way i have found to use is just take the air box off completly. 2 10mm screws then push forward to get the front of the box off those lil prongs and then lift it out of there. you got a small ass blade screw driver i hope?
well if you havent done it by the time i get off work tonight i gotta put mynew cable and tors removing kit on and il take pics of how to clean and remove your jets if you want. il just check this before i start on it so i know to grab the camera
Since ive been here man these guys have done nothing but steer me into the right direction everytime. They have been there and done that and they dont want to see others have to go thru the same mistakes or hassle. But what you said your going to do is prob the best plan you have said. good luck you ya and let us know what you come up with.
i beleave a piston slap sound like a chattering in ur top end that speeds up with ur engine when u rev it up. but im not to sure. and detanation has like a knocking soound. i think thats what they sound like but i could be wrong. its kinda hard to say without hearing it.
i just baught a tors elim kit and will put it on this weekdend. so i will have the tors boxes and i still have the tors brain box also. so if you dont find one buy monday then il hook ya up on it. you need just the tors caps and box things on top right?
i live in illinois and have a frame thats good and straight from what i can tell just doesnt have a vin number on it. if you want to make an offer. might even trade for some after market goodies.
