  1. i am looking to buy a banshee motor... nothin fancy or fast just rebuilding a frame i have had for awhile... im looking for somethin i can drop in and go. im in Oklahoma thx aaron

I forgot to put the coolant screw in the side of my cyl.. filled it up and my $20 coolant was pissing all over the floor.. so i scrambled like mad to get the screw in before i lost more coolant. #2 working on a yfz.... installed the piston backwards (still dont know how i did that ) so i had to tear it back down.. didnt break anything luckly. #3 workin on 450r.. after installing new crank ect... i forgot to install the base gasket for the cyl.. needless to say it wasnt too fun to start. there are a TON more.. mostly from 4 strokes cause 2 strokes are funand easy to work on!! later aaron
  3. so i have always wondered how do you tell if your chain is wore out? i run renthals and change hem about every 2 years.. this is usually due to the swinger tensioner not being able to make anymore adjustments. so how do you know when your chain is wore out?
  4. thx guys.. i got the 320's and 30 pilots in and Af out 1 turn.. i couldnt find any 27.5 so 30's were all i could come up with around here. the thing is so much more responsive!! it doesnt do that bottom end bog now and it can idle without fouling plugs! thx for the help. oh yeah im not killing my neighvborhood mosiquito population any longer either.. lol!! later aaron
  5. thats how i do it... pull up to the line.. let clutch out till i feel it grab.. jam on rear brake.. rev it up and drop the hammer.. i start in first with a 15 tooth sprocket.. its all n the launch for me.. if i can get out of the hole i can usually pull out a victory. later aaron
  6. my 2002 has about 2600 in it.. i have been really lucky everything i have bought for it (ported cyl,head ect..) i have been able to sell the stock parts for the same amount or more. so i only have an extra 200 bucks in it.. i sold my stock cyl for $400 on fleabay and bought my ported ones for 300 off here.. sold my stock shocks for 100 and bought some works triples for 150.. and the list goes on.. so the bike was 2400.. i tink i am done for awhile too till it gives out and i go 4mill later aaron

  10. so i got my bike dyno tuned last season (dont ask for the graph i have lost it) by a local guy (he is in el reno OK ) i finally got around to looking at my jetting today and it seems way off from what everyone else runs my mods are as follows ported jugs 20cc domes timing at +6 runs 110 at 32:1 stock carbs so they put in 35 pilots and 290 mains.. this thing smokes like a chimney and it fouled a plug the other day. it runs cool as hell though! i am no expert but i think i should be somewhere in the range of 30 pilot and 320-340 main. i turned in the af to 1 turn out to see if it would help. any suggestions i paid to get this thing set up so i am having a hard time wanting to change it thx aaron
  11. i just put together my venom 480 450r this weekend.. i couldnt be happier with it!! a sprayed down yfz got taken down by my lil ol 480 honda. granted not by much a nose at most but it still went down! i love my honda.. i have 2 broke ass yfz's in the garage right now.. one the cam cam gear rolled cause yami decided to just press the gear on instead of actually using bolts or welds.. the other the cam chain skipped.. both easy fixes.. but the amount of time i spend working on the yfz's compared to my honda is amazing.. i never work on the honda and it starts every time. but out of the box power doesnt compare... the YFZ is faster especially over the 04/05 the 07 honda is faster but still doesnt compare to the yfz..

  13. no the gap between the "pickup" and the stator (round thing on the crank) its on the sprocket side of motor remove the cover check the gap report back.
  14. hey no need to hate on me :} i just got done with the banshee so i figured i would show the 4 stroke some love.. im sure once the 4 stroke is faster.. ill have to buy some crap for banshee again.. its a never ending cycle. i really need to sell one fo these so i quit spending so much cash on them.
  15. not banshee parts but i did get a 480 venom kit for my 450r.. pretty excited about that just cant open till christmas that sucks!!

  17. i have a yfz fcr carb that has been setting for a couple years.. it may need a rebuild or it may fire right up.. i just sold my yfz and am getting rid of some other parts $90 shipped hit me up on pm im on about every night
  18. email me at [email protected] its an la sleeve piston thats .020 over or 83.50mm.. so you will need to get your cyl bored and honed which is prob a good isea anyway it shouldnt be much more than $50 from a machine shop. i just realized it was $105 bucks when i bought it cause its on the box lol.. anyway hit me up on pm or at the email above. later aaron

  21. 04 05 450rs had crank bearing problems but the newer ones were upgraded to include a collar.. that said i rode my 04 450r into the ground for 2 years before i had my 1st crank fail. the 04,05 yfz had oling issues that were corrected.. but the oil mod is easy to do.. as well as the cam mod which turns the yfz into a beast! we have 2 04 yfz's and they are great bikes!
  22. i own both.. a banshee and a 450r.. my 450r is pretty well built and if i had to make a choice between it and the banshee the banshee would go.. but thats only becouse of how much i have into it. i set the banshee up with some works shocks and it rides well seems to be pretty nimble in the woods.. i think if your going to do mostly trails a 450 would be the way to go..just due to the torque and ease of throwing it around... especially if they are tight trails.. dont get me wrong if you get a smokin deal on a shee then i dont think you can go wrong. they are 2 totally different machines.. if you like the feel and power of 2 stroke then get one. i really dont lose drags on the 450r but i have ALOT of money into it to get it where i wanted it.. i have half the money in my banshee and it is easier to rebuild and work on and i enjoy riding it just as much! prob not much help but htere ya go lol later aaron
  23. i was on a blue banshee with one graphics and black ac propegs. i usually ran next our buddies stretched out red 700 or a green monster banshee. i ran the 18cc domes and they seemed to make ALOT of noise.. so i took those out
  24. well i went to LS this last weekend with my newly built banshee and was a little dissapointed. mods are as follows: drag ported cyl cool head with 21cc domes +6 timing skat track haulers 20x10x9 9paddle +2 swinger t5 pipes stock gearing. stock carbs dyno jetted rider mod I am 6'1 230 the problem was when i left in first i just blew off the tires and it took till 3rd to catch everyone. i talked to a few banshee guys out there and they suggested going up to a 15 tooth and doing 1st gear launches. if i got a good second gear start i would be right with everyone but that only happened about every 3 runs.. the rest of the time it just bogged out of the hole. so i got home and ordered some 20cc domes and a 15 tooth sprocket and a case saver (got lucky and it didnt crack the case when it slipped off) does anyone have any input on getting this thing right? thx aaron
  25. i can walk my shee all day long on my cam modded yfz.. i can walk both bikes on my 450r also with 13.5 piston,pr2 ported head and hrc cam with other crap too. my banshee mods last time out were t5 pipes cool head with 21cc domes. all bikes running skat trac haulers. this time should be ALOT different outcome as far as the shee is concerned hopefully i will let you know the outcome tomorrow after our trip to sahara mods this time: drag ported cyl timing plate at +6 21cc domes jetted and syncd right on t5's +2 swinger
