  1. i'm interested in the shaws but without an in range price you are looking for i am not gonna offer anything on them.
  2. I put a layer of rtv silicone on both sides of the rubber gasket when i put mine back on.I've seen plenty of nasty flywheels and mine isn't gonna be one of them
  3. right side next to my thumb lever.I dont have a on off switch or front brakes either...
  4. Yes threaded.Be careful when pulling them out. They are a bitch.Soak them with wd 40.If you snap them do not use an easy out bit lol.Trust me it won't work. You will have to take them to a machine shop and have them put it on a bridge port machine.
  5. 39s are way big for them mods
  6. You can run alky with that set up but however like you said if you already need bigger carbs now just get bigger alky carbs and call it a day.33 pwks with a set of powerjets with a pump or oversized bowls should do you just fine depending on the porting (every builder has a different "dune port") ask the builer who ported your cylinders what carbs will be suitable.Or if you have the cash to spare get a set of lectrons with gas and alky needles. Also what kind of riding do you do?If you ride trails and such then alky is not gonna be a wise choice as that shit burns quick and is pricey where i live. You're gonna want at least 160 psi to run alky so if you don't already know i would suggest compression check. And a little FYI, cold weather and alky doesn't mix well,if i had another set of gas carbs i would have them on my bike to run in the winter. You can expect a 10-15 percent in HP gain over gas.
  7. i ran a set of high revs.great all around pipe IMO

  10. buy a thumb throttle and a thumb throttle cable.a twist throttle cable will not fit a thumb throttle.
  11. wow that was clever....ur mom must be so proud
  12. Double check the pick up gap to be about .20 which is about the thickness of the cardboard on a matchbook. As far as the leaking coolant,is it coming from the overflow? Or check the coolant flow tube that fits in the clutch cover and comes out of the right side top case with the hose going to your head. Sometimes that little metal o-ring doesn't do the trick, you may have to pull the cover off and throw a little rtv silicone around the tube and put it back together.Easy way to check is look between the carbs and if you see coolant dripping down the hole on the cases coming out of the bottom then chances are it's the tube.If not then check all the head bolts, nuts, hoses, clamps etc..good luck
  13. good deal.clean bike, good luck on the sale
  14. word...36s are to big.Like Dave said,28s are sufficient with a mild port
  15. Should post up a couple pics of the port work.i'm sure it will be asked.Good luck on the sale
  16. yes 28s are to small for a drag port. The reason why it runs awesome and pulls hard on some flat land is simple..its not under a heavy/hard load.Ride a bike down the street..ride a bike yup a hill. The heavy load is gonna kill ya beacause youre under a load going up a hill
  17. i'm sure somebody else will chime in but i would say run a set of 33pwks and bump that timing to +4
  18. First off, what kind of port work do you have? And yes im gonna have to say 36's are some pretty damn big carbs. If you have a mild/trail/dune or whatever port job, personally i wouldnt run anything bigger than 33s.Up a hill with 36's is just way over kill unless you have a set of drag ported stockers...you're probably drowning in fuel, thats why on a heavy load up a hill you're cylinders cant pull as much fuel in as your carbs are giving
  19. First off get rid of the tors, spend the 55 bucks and save the hastle.Second, cut the key switch out, tape the wires together and disconnect the voltage regulator under the tank and all the parking brake shit off the handlebars. All that shit is garbage and nothing but a problem. If you spend the few bucks and take the 30 minutes to pull all that shit out i bet you will be a happy camper check the flywheel to make sure you didn't sheer the key off pick up gap spark plug wires/boots coil the list goes on but thats a good place to start...good luck
  20. check the compression in the cylinders...110-135psi should be about right on a stock bore.if you have less than that its time for some new rings..
  21. tax returns!! woohoooo!
