K&T 421 Cub Partout (motor)
LostcauseZ06 replied to Bansh-eman's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Thanks for the crank/lockup. great deal and great communication so far with this seller! -
alright i have a set of jugs that need some work. When i bought my girlfriends quad it was blown up and when i tore it down i realized it had caught a ring on the exhaust port and destroyed the piston. One of the cylinders has a pretty good scuff in the wall and will need to be bored out. currently the cylinders measure 66 mm. which is .080 over. i believe that they can be taken out to 64.5 mm (.100 over) and be good to go. i have no idea who did the port job but there is a "V R" engraved in the sides of the jugs underneath the fresh paint thats on them. The port job looks to be pretty decent and done professionally. the transfers have been ported and everything looks pretty good. i have pictures and can send them to anybody interested. Im looking for 200 dollars shipped OBO for the cylinders. Id ask more but knowing they need a little work out of them to get them ready to run im not asking much for them. Pm me for pictures and ill get them sent asap. Thanks.

Which paddles/swinger.... 4 Mil Ported Cheetah.
LostcauseZ06 replied to LostcauseZ06's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
yeah thats kinda what i am thinking as well. i definately dont want to deal with the bike coming up while riding. thats one of my largest complaints about my stock displacement ported bike right now, its got a stock swinger on it and it stands on end when i launch it. i will post some pictures of the port job... i was really quite surprised when i got it yesterday, it is flat out HOGGED OUT. there is ALOT of material removed and the work looks top notch. granted you cant tell HP by the looks of a port, somebody definately put some time into it. Best part about it....... if any of you have been watching ebay..... im the dude who won the cheetah cub on there last week for 500 dollars. 8 hours of ride time on it and a stage 4 trinity port job. thing is IMMACULENT! and for 500 dollars... i just saved myself a TON of money. fyi, no offense taken. i agree 100% about the 120 hp claim. If the bike makes 100 hp i will be more than happy with it. 120 HP is just what i have read trinity rates there stage 4 stuff at. granted we all know trinity is just a little hyped up and not nearly as good as they think they are. lol. -

no offense, and i really appreciate the replies...... but i think we missed the part about the bike needing to be duneable? everyone ive talked to said anything over a 8" swinger is VERY hard to go duning with your buddies on. All of my buddies are 4 stroke guys. YFZ's especially. I would really like to be able to go out ripping up the dunes on the back side of little sahara. I guess if its impossible to dune a 4 mil cub with a really really heavy port job then ill just have to buy another bike as well i have loved the 09 raptor special editions since they came out. it is possible to have a banshee making tons of retarded horspower and still enjoy trail riding and duning?? or is it just not in the cards? Thanks again for the replies. FYI alkygirl. This is a stage 4 drag ported cub... not a run of the mil 4 mil cookie cutter out of the box cub setup. this bike "should" according to claims, make upwards of 120 hp with this cylinder, supporting mods, and a little alky. -
alright i know there are a million threads on this but most of them i read after i searched were bigger dudes. which leads me to believe rider weight makes a difference. im 180 lbs. the bike is a stage 4 trinity drag ported cub on a 4 mil cheetah bottom end. Right now i just have 34mm mikuni's but i will most likely be upgrading to some 38 or 39's and alcohol in the very near future. The bike will either have a +8 or +10 roundhouse swinger on it which i havent purchased yet. i cant for the life of me remember which gears im running right now but if needed i can check tonight. i plan on hillshooting but ALSO duning the bike around as well. i know it will be difficult with the powerband/power that this bike will be making but im confident i can tame it down and still have it reliable for the casual ride out with my buddies when we arent racing the hill. Any input is appreciated. Thanks guys.

Powder Coating In The Salt Lake City Area
LostcauseZ06 replied to 9FR Productions's topic in Banshee Appearance
pilkington out in SLC does great work. we get all of our stuff here at work powdercoated. they have a full testing facility where they test the coatings against corrosion and all sorts of stuff. GREAT product. just out of curiosity.... why do you want to powder coat??? powdercoat chips and flakes EASY... Paint generally stays softer and holds up better with proper prep work. i just got my compressor and my paint gun should be here soon. im going to start painting frames/cars/anything else on the side out of my house. Once i learn how to do a good quality job id be happy to do it if you havent gotten it done yet. -
Any ideas what could make the factory on/off switch stop working? it worked great a week ago and then when i brought the bike home and washed it/took it for a ride it would no longer shut off. what do i need to look for that could be wrong with it?

oh yeah dude i remember ya werent you a cop there for a while? im not sure what port job is on it. the dude said the engine was built JD racing or something like that. he also said, and i quote, "if you ever get beat by somebody who says they are stock displacement, they are liars, this bike has never and will never lose to a 350 banshee unless he has nitrous" the guy i bought it from had owned like 7 shee's i guess, he had a whole garage full of toys. thinking about throwing it on my buddies dynojet to see what it makes. -

sure is, who is this? 35's arent too crazy. the bike still makes good power down low. Im guessing you think big carbs are only necesary on stroked banshee's? mine has basically every mod besides more displacement. -

2002 Z06, Iron block 408 ci stroker. makes 630 to the wheels on a 150 shot tuned very conservative -
well its been about 6 months since i had to sell my banshee in order to get into our house. Sad day but the house was definately worth it. this bike was definately a STEAL at 3500 dollars. Mods include : Stock displacement, Port/polish,Forged Pistons, Forged rods, welded/trued/balanced crank, Mikuni 35's, vforce reeds, boost bottle, umi intakes, Toomey T5's, coolhead, domes, Stock length aftermarket polished swingarm, Honda 400ex carrier, and also came with a set of paddles on douglas wheels and the knobby's on the black wheels. The paint is absolutely rediculous... it was finished about 3 weeks ago and is gorgeous. The frame is a tangerine orange with HOK pearl over it. The rest of the paint speaks for itself but it also has some pearl/flake that shows up in the sun. im in love with this bike.... lol

we were going to go but the weather is going to be HORRRRIBLE..... its supposed to rain the entire weekend sand + rain = not so fun.

good to know. most 2 stroke guys i know say they run race fuel on anything over 120 PSI cylinder pressure. That should save me some coin for sure. ill post some pics of the Z later today, stupid works new blocks blocked my photobucket account i paid 2800 for the shee, which included a set of skat track hauler tripple buffed rear paddles and dune tracker fronts, both sets of tires are mounted on douglas wheels.
-
whats your elevation? according to the pro design chart at my elevation (4400 ft) it would require 12ish cc domes to hit 130 Psi. seems kinda retarded to me to bump the compression up that high with just a dome.

Hey all, I just bought my 1998 banshee from a friend of mine out here in utah. brought it home on friday and im loving ever bit of it Any of you utah guys might no me as all my buddies ride and im good friends with the muchmores and such. I also spend alot of time at the track racing my 02 Z06 which im sure some of you have seen around. Anyways.. good to be here! Now for the first Q... i bought this banshee from a friend who bought it from a guy unloading it. I really no no idea whats done to it. I was told the top end has been rebuilt very recently and the compression is indicative of a good running, almost too good running for my taste bike. The compression is a solid 130 PSI on both cylinders! i know domes on the coolhead could bump up the compression that high but i find it hard to believe somebody would throw the smallest CC domes in a mostly stock bike ya know? like i said im up in utah so elevation is pretty dang high which is why the compression makes me wonder. Also kinda stinks because i am forced to run race gas all the time. Here are some pics
