  1. well guys thamks for the advice. the jetting seems ok now. but ill see. had the top end apart was going to rebuild it till i found id bought the wrong pistons. what apain in the but. im just fliping the rings for now. seems to run a bit bett3er till they go for good. im sure it wont be long. i founfd i was running one cylender most the time. on low end. had a lot of blow by on the left side. well i recon i cnt complain even runing like that it still smoked a group of raptors. even some built ones on the strip
  2. Hello. need help figuring out the pilot jet not sure which way to adjust size. ive got a bad quarter throttle studder. Ive got the main and niddle on the money.... i think. It runs awsome half to to full throttle. but bogs just before the power hits on. its not bad but i notice it. i am trying to reduce the small just be for the power really kicks in. any one have a sugestion on pilot jet. i think ist a little rich. but could be wrong.
  3. hello guys, probly just using the wrong set up. hoping i fixed the problem by adding my head and domes, and jetting it a little better. i got smoked by a freakin 450 and a decent shee the the other day all im really runnin is a set of fmf fattties with duel core twos a 35mm single and reeds. am i runnin this thing wrong or what. its like half throddle its done in 6th you can push it to full but theres nothing wtf do i have some thing still pluged in for the tors or something keeping it from reving out. it feels better now with the 21cc domes. but still seems to be held back by some thing. not sure if anyones had this issue or not , just where you can feel theres more in the darn thing but it wont let ya use it. any suggestions would be nice
  4. i need pipes, full wireing, with cdi, coil, and all the little blak boxes. a tank, seat, and all handle bar equipment.thumb throttle brake and clutch for handle bar
  5. well this post turned out like dooo doo. sorry fellas it dosent make any sence to me eather after reading how it turned out.
  6. Just a story for ya all. I raced against the buddies yz450 this week end. Not sure what mods i say ive got on here anymore all im running on the banshee is a fmf fatty and single carb set up. still waiting for it to die to good parts to work. Any ways whats the big deal about the 450s they do have a good topend nothing to brag about though. 1/8 mile theres not going to be a 450 touch a banshee. rolling or not. not sure what gearing to use to really out roll one though. that single carb kinda kills top alittle you can tell its beging for more but theres nothing to give it. but its so made up for with bottom end preformance. makes it a lot funner ride in my oppinion Yea yea i know what a boring story. Just had a grate time runing with my friends this weekend . kant wait to bolt that 4 mill stroker in the frame when this old girl dies
  7. Sorry guys i think i got the pics in my album now. Im alot better working on the quads than this stiupid thing
  8. Hey guys just wanted to say thanks for all the help you all provided on my build it was and is a work in the making what do you all think.
  9. Thanks for reminding me about the slim thing im willin to bet that maight be it i forgot i had thatshit added to them. there new tires and rims The thing isnt unmanagable at end just was seeing if possable getting one of them stabalizers would help it tracks staight i do suppose its doing a good speed though never really figured it was all that quick though im just wondering how its going to be when i stick my 421 on it. Im only running bolt ons now. havent really decided weather to bolt on that 421 or finish up porting this engine on it and run that cool head with it on 21 cc domes im sure eather way it will pick up the power on it. Oh by the way I am runnig the 2 into one set up on the carb and i love it i see a lot of difrrent opinions on here about that set up. I guess its becouse of my riding style and places to ride. I suspect duels is really good for dunes and a little more open areas. but thats my two cents on that one. I just really noticed a grate improvement on bottem end. although it is very diffucult to keep jetted correctly for temp and atmosher conditions. well fellows thanks for your imput
  10. Thanks for all the replys, it is on the road that is shakes the shit out of ya as for ream and tire im not sure they seem fine i guess i could stick it on the balancer and hit it up with some wheel waights may chack the wheel bearings though that sounds possable
  11. Hello guys. im sure this is probly not the correct spot to ask this. I have a really bad shake inthe the front end when at wot 6th gear. how the hell do you get ride of most that shake in the handle bars? Im runnung new maxxis razer front and rear with works duel rats up front. Its an 89 with the jarm set up all the joints are very tight in cluding ball joints. Tight to me is there isnt any worn play in them they feel almost new. This thing rides straight but at speed it will shake you to death it seems like for no reason what so ever. May just be the nature of the beast but is there any way to help clear some of that up
  12. No exspert here on this, but if you are really looking to do it your self ive got a lot of information to really do the job along with some programs to do all math needed for the job. all on digits I will tell you that ill not touch my jugs even equiped with this info. Theres not alot involved in doing it just knowing what you want to accomplish from your work I will be using this info to do some porting on an old blaster and a few snowmobiles. Once complete and i learn from mistakes made i may go to work on one of my banshee engines. But Ive got a few of them to toy with I would never attempt to go at it if it was the only one useable> And from what i have seen its much safe to only blueprint what it was built for matching joints, gaskets and removing crap casting flaws that are in the port paths. but that only brings it up to manufactor specs. Dont fool with the port windows or angles at all inless u really now what you want. Theres alot of math involed in that along with percision, A dreaml tool even with atachments can only get so far and is not really built correctly for the percision needed to accomplish a good port job.inmost cases But if you are interrested in the info ive got about 1.5 gigs of books programs and other related infomation to read. It will give the infomation one needs to do the job but once you read the information you will see its alot more cost effective to just send off your jugs to someones whos been doing them a while
  13. Hello guys need your help. I just broke down one of my engines to do a 4 mill build. i got this off ebay the cases are in good shape but some ass clown had rebuilt it before and really did a number with the yama bond. Im sure thats what ook out the big end rod bearing. Anyways im left with the clean up before i put it back together. Im looking for some advice on how to really get it clean theres yama bond every where in cluding the oil holes for the bearings. neadless to say its a mess. I have one other question the side that went up left a groove around where the big rod bearing spins in the case half. it dosent get into the case joints at all. but was wondering if it could be left like that or does the case need work on it to get rid of that groove.
  14. hello guys i think ive got an issue but not sure yet. can i use an 89 stator and cdi set up on a newer engine like 06. or do i need the hole wiring set up for the 06 engine. ive got the 06 stator in it all ready but cant use my 89 cdi. and ive got an 89 stator to put in it if it will work in the new engine dose any one know for sure?
  15. thanks thats good advice. and ive not got the after maket jarms yet. all though i finally found some one that sells them darn hard to get item there. im not gonna do any cuting on this thing to change to aarms may end up getting a diffrent frame. i wouldnt mind finding a leager frame for this thing if any ones got one...................well guys thanks
  16. hello guys im in the middle of a build here i need some advice on different suspension set ups. ill be running a 421 stroker motor. It is a darn j arm frame that im planning on leaving that way with after market j arms. I will have work preformance shocks up front and the stocker on the rear. i was thinking that i may use spacers up front and a g force adjustable in the back. im not sure if i should change swing arms though and if i do where to go longer or shorter. not sure what is what when it comes to that. any advice would be help full. im not planning on doing any mx just tight woods hills old rail road beds and fire trails that have some bad woops also is it advisable to get a stabalizer for the steering?
  17. Have you checked to ensure the carbs are in sync.
  18. hello guys im thinking about buying a 95 engine for my 89 can i swap out my electronics to the newer engin or will that not work?
  19. thanks for the reply guys, Ill be using vitos jugs for this build but Im not doing any porting on them yet just useing the plate, I wont be useing to much of a compresion ratio change other than droping a size or two. As far as clutch lever im honestly thinking of going with a hydroic line set up and doing away with cable setup. I guess i was just wondering if the lock up clutch will last better than say doing a new hinson with heavy clutchs and springs.
  20. Hello guys. can you all tell me what the lock out clutch set up is for. can it be used for a woods ride.and could a hydralic clutch setup be used with it? just trying to figure out the best set up for my shee. im doin a 421 stroker woods machine. would this be a usefull addition. hope fully ill get this thing to some dunes or at least the beach. its probly going to be a real hand full in the woods.
  21. Hi having a hard time figuring out what size carb to go with. I am planning on using a 2 in to 1 system on a 421cc stroker engine v force 3 reeds and fmf pipe. Ive already got the 35mm pkw. What im not sure is if this will feed this beast enough fuel im afraid it will run lean with this carb. even jetted. Im sure im going to get a lot of responses that say lose the 2 into 1 set up. I know that 2 carbs will get killer top end if i would use 36mm or 38s. so im not sure weather to bump up the single carb size or not here. another question is were a newer style EDELBROCK carb would preform on a two stroke dose any one know much about them?
  22. hello guys. just seeing who all else has just put it all it to there shees it it started out to be well just nerf bars..... well now soem exaust..... new head..... ok lets do 4mm...... mmmmmm big bore..... tires.... plastic...... shocks... it never ends. but its mine some thing i always wanted to do and its finally getting there. big bucks and a lot of time but theres always some thing else. whats you alls story
  23. Hello again guys, Ive been trying to decide if i want to spend the money on a set of cheeta cub cylinders. Are they worth the price? Im going to be builing a 4 mill stroker with 21 cc domes, trinty 2 into one carb, fmf fatty. Im only wanting to get the 65 mil bore. i think that should end up being like a 385cc?? I understand that these cylinders help in the life of the engine. Do they out preform stock cylinders of the same bore. what all is diffrent in the two cylinders? Im looking to build a stickly woods/ fire road quad you all dont think this will be too much for that sorta riding do ya. thanks fellas
  24. Ive been looking for a good sight to find jets for my 35mm pwk carb i found this sight http://www.psep.biz/store/keihin_pwk_carb_parts.htm hope it helps some one
  25. Hello guys, just seeing what the group has to say about advanced timing. Ive been reading your alls post trying to really get a feel for good tuning on banshees, I see alot of people run theres set at 4 deg advanced from the centerline in crank case. I have also been reading up on this as well trying to really get into building. I would like to know how the pros do it. From what I have been reading it looks like I need to get a needle guage to find true top dead center. then adjust timing from there. This is from bell grams book , What hes saying is like the higher i go with compression the less timing advance you need on these quads. Im getting ready to build a 4 mm stock rod stroker and ill tell ya from reading these books it looks like theres a lot of fine tuning that goes into makeing a good banshee into a bad ass one. One last question When building this is the any thing special that i should check. Ive got cut domes so i wont be running a stroker plate in less i need to. im just alittle worried about squish. I have never dealt with o ring heads before and not having the little extra clearance up top. I can adjust that on the base gasket if im not mistaking. Im also wondering about port timeing on stock port jugs. I know Im going to have to get them ported some time But iI think I should be able to put it all together prior to that. Then just take the jugs off for porting once I make sure Ive got all the right clearences. well guys does it look like i am headed in the right direction?
