  1. Any one running Bosch Platinum in their Banshee? If so what number? I have a .020 over stock Banshee with aftermarket carbs and exhaust. What Bosch Platinum works with this combination? I have fouled a few plugs here and there and a friend told me if I ran Bosch Platinum plugs I would not have this problem any more. I did several searches on this forum and on google but never came up with a definite answer. Thanks in advance for any help.
  2. Went down earlier and took some pics of the front end parts. I looked and compared the a-arm tabs and they all appear to be ok. This thing was rolled or something and the spindles where the ball joints mount look fishy. If I was a betting man I'd say the a-arms have been replaced but not the spindles. I have some close up pics I could post if anyone thinks they could interpret them for me. I also thought maybe the offset on the wheels was different but it isn't. If it had been that would explain the wheel being centered differently over the upper ball joints but not why the left wheel leans in so far on the top.
  3. Just got a 96 Banshee recently. Got my electrical and engine issues fixed and now looking it over, the front end is bent or something. When you look at it head on the right tire is fairly straight up and down. The left tire appears to lean in on the top (kicked out on the bottom depending on how you want to say it) an excessive amount. I can't pinpoint what exactly it is but something is wrong. Also when you look at the right rim the inside edge of the rim is centered over the upper ball joint. The left rim is past the inside edge of the ball joint. The ball joint is completely inside the wheel. Are the mounts on the spindles where the ball joints mount supposed to be angled or straight? Anyone know where I can find a picture of a stock spindle for comparison purposes. Thanks in advance for any help.
  4. I appreciate the offer but I am going to put one of the rear brake light LED bars accross the back of the six pack rack. Not really worried about brake light at least for now. Just a light that comes on with the headlights. Later. Jerry
  5. Ate and went back at it. I found the blue wire at the back of the ATV. Plugged into the black ground wire!! Got everything fixed and now need to find a cool tail light to put on. I kind of feel like a fool but never looked closely at the wiring in the back because I was under the impression this ATV never had a tail light. Oh well live and learn!! Thanks again for the help. Jerry
  6. I have lights. I called and talked to a guy at Ricky Stator and he got me lined out on how the system worked. He told me that the factory lights are AC but that DC lights would work. He told me to unhook the regulator with the engine idling and see if I had lights. No lights. So according to him the regulator is not bad necessarily. So I'm tinkering with the head light switch and the lights come on. Upon further investigation when the switch was turned on the copper connector between the red/yellow and blue wire would spark and the lights would go off. The diagram shows this to be tail light wiring so now I assume the blue wire going back to the tail light (that is not there) is shorted to the frame. I was told early Banshees didn't have tail lights so I assumed this was one that didn't. Now that I know the wiring is there somewhere I guess I will add a tail light as well. I appreciate the input and sorry I am not up to speed on AC wiring and how it works in this application. I will be on this forum off and on as long as I own this ATV. Thanks!!
  7. Regulator is there and plugged in. The entire wiring harness is intact except the TORS has been removed. I was of the understanding that the votlage regulator was also a rectifier and that it did run DC lighting?
  8. Thanks. I ordered one this morning and hopefully will have it fixed soon.
  9. Unplugged the bullet connectors on the yellow and black stator wires beside the air box. Fired the engine and showed 22 volts up to 35 volts AC depending on RPM. I would assume from this that the regulator is bad? If so is there a better one out there than stock to handle my 35 watt or more watts? Thanks for the reply. Jerry
  10. Is that AC or DC voltage at that wire?
  11. Just purchased a 1996 Banshee. Needed some repairs on the engine and I got that squared away. On to the lighting. The last guy had put some 55 watt Wal-Mart driving lights on it. One was broken off and I removed them without ever testing them. Put some 35 watt sealed beam single filament lights on and wired them to the high beam wires. Needless to say no lights. Where do I need to start? When too high a wattage lights are used does it fry the regulator or stator or both. I'd like to get the lights working but if the cost is too high I can live without them. Thanks in advance for your help.
