  7. That's a really good point! Most prevelant with the ceramics, for sure.
  8. Just another option to consider---I can powdercoat those for you in several hi-temp colors... Silver Bronze Gray Black of course (but you were getting away from black) All these powders are good to 1000 degrees. If you want them to clean up easier, you might consider getting them JetHot coated---ceramic coated---looks great and hold up for a long time My .02

  18. If the chrome plating is high quality, you can powdercoat a clear over the top of it...it will reduce the shine slightly, but it will keep it from tarnishing. It works on polished aluminum too. Eastwood also sells a product in a can called "Diamond Clear" that is a spray on clear coat for polished metal. Lastly, there is a product called Zoopseal that protects for up to a year...kind of expensive though.
