  1. How would a +6 do on the jumps? I don't want to build a "drag only" bike. More of a an "all around" bike that does good on the track.
  2. I love the look of drag pipes. If i put them on my bike, how would it do just riding around when NOT drag racing? Are they more for top end power?
  3. Is there a reason why you don't see many drag bikes running +2 a-arms? I'm building mine to do more then just drag race but i'd like to lower it and put some skinnies on it for those days i do. anyone else running longer arms on their drag bikes?
  4. Finally got around to getting the bike out to finish up the build. Need to put a swingarm on it. I was having a hard time deciding on either +4 or +6 but i think i'm going to go with the +4.   5. Thanks! thats just what i needed. got it on. yeah, i prob should. but i may do it later. ive already went WAY over budget with this build and i'm taking a short cut on this for now. lol. if it stands out in the end then ill go back and pretty it up. I still have a lot of stuff i need to buy.
  6. trying to get by bike back together after having the frame powder coated and i can't seem to remember how the factory brake line goes on. i know i should have took pictures but i just took this thing apart thinking i would remember how everything went back on....6 months ago. lol. does anyone have any pictures of how the brake line goes on? or pictures of your bike with front plastics off so i can get an idea? i've done a search and cant seem to find anything
  7. i'm about to order a +4 swing arm and having a hard time deciding between chrome or powder coat. my frame is black, i have some chrome on the motor but im not sure how a chrome swing arm will look. the bike will either be black, grey, or cadillac white. after market plastics with chrome insert in the grill. anyone have any pics of your chrome swing arms? what are the pros and cons of each? thanks

  9. i'm already in too deep with this build. lol. but it would be nice to save some money. i guess my next question is would i actually benefit from the flex bars?
  10. mostly motocross track for a few laps just for fun twice a month, drag racing, wide open sand pits, and glamis one week out of the year. other then that..just running around the fields. i want something strong enough to not bend if flip it over. whats the deal with the flex bars? are they worth it for riding trails at high speed?
  11. i'm in the process of rebuilding my banshee from the frame up. which handle bars should i go with? the ones that were on there look like crap and have rust. not going to use them. i was thinking about picking up a set of pro taper flat bars on ebay for $120 but seems kinda high. what is everyone else running?
  12. yeah i couldnt find them anywhere else. I googled a discount code and found one that saved me $45. ended up getting them from the alba site for $405. I know they are +2+1 but I don't see where it says that on their website? Savage.. bike looks good. how do you like your arms so far?
  13. got my frame back from powder coat, ready to put some arms on it. i really like the Albas because i can run stock shocks until i get the money for long travel. at one time i found them on ebay for less then $400 new. now i see them only on the website for $450 plus shipping. anywhere know where the best place to buy them from is? or should i go with another brand? looking to go +2 +1 and stay as cheap as i can. how does everyone like the albas?

  15. well we tore into it and the top end was shot. the pistons had A LOT of play in cylinders. the port job that the previous did was pure crap. i ended up buying a stage 5 Trinity kit from a guy who never had it installed. i got Trinity cylinders that have been ported by Trinity, new pistons (65mm 0r 65.5mm, can't remember), trinity head with the domes, using a thinner gasket to bump up the compression a little more. should have around 12.5:1 compression. is this a good set up? total mods would be: mods listed above running on 110 35mm carbs with k&n filters, no airbox pro circuit exhaust boyesen reeds anything else i can do to bump up the power? what kind of power can i expect once we get it finished? is this going to be a good set up for trail riding and going to the dunes once or twice a year? thanks
  16. right now it has full system Pro Circuit exhaust, 35mm carbs and K&N filters. we are going to tear into the motor this week and see what size the pistons are. if they are NOT 68mm, we are going to go to a 68mm, port it, and get some dome heads and bump the compression up to 11:1. i've been looking into the 4mil cranks but i cant decide if it will be worth it or not. did a compression test and both read about 100psi.
  17. i bought a 03 banshee today. i have been wanting a shee for about 10 years now but always rode tight trails so never bought one. now that i am riding the dunes a lot, i want to build it just for that (but also trail ride it). i do know it needs a top end rebuild. if i am going into the motor, i want to give it more power. what can i do? i am unsure what has been done to it. the guy said it had 68mm pistons? he didnt really sound like he knew what he was talking about but it does run good, just hard to start when its cold. doesnt have a lot of compression. not looking to break the bank, just rebuild it and give it more power at the same time. maybe 400cc or 420cc? whats required, how much will it run me? i want it to stay reliable but be much faster at the same time. looking for the best bang for the buck. any suggestions?   18. i went last year the first week in december and had a blast. it was during the week so there wasnt many people. i want to come out when all the races are going on, etc. we only get to ride about 2 days. so far its looking like monday and tuesday before thanksgiving. will there still be a lot going on then or should we shoot for it being on the weekend? the sat-sunday after thanksgiving is out. i want to see the races, but i dont want to go when there is so many people its like riding in a dust storm. so when is the best time to go?
