  1. I ran cyl,reed, spacer, intake, then carb. Used a gasket and sealer between each one. Just to be safe. I only did it to keep my PWK from hitting the clutch arm.
  2. Yeah, talk to a builder, explain what you want and how much you have to spend. One recommended on here. Don't bother going to yama like BBC said. You can do cheaper mods and be happy with it and beat 450's. But you have a great budget for building on. Porting is a huge step. That's just the first thing I personally would do if I had that budget. Pipes $300, nice port to match pipes/style $300, decked head $50-$80, timing plate $40, tors remove kit $40, pancake bearing $50, FAST clutch $100, and pods $85 = Your budget and a nice sleeper that will kill. All easy stuff with a little mechanical skills, clymers and tools.
  3. That's a sweet budget for pipes, head, and porting. Porting has been by far the best mod I have done. The main reason why I did little things first was b/c of a low budget. I would do what I could afford. But if I had a G to drop right into it, porting would be my 1st choice if I could do it all over again. Get rid of those tors as well. And yes, you will walk over the bolted on 450's.
  4. Dont force it. Sorry, but it is a big deal. The bottom end could still be good if the top end is locked up. A $300 problem can turn into a 1k probelm in a second all b/c of simply dragging it. Do like Shannon said and take off the stator cover, and spin the fly wheel by hand. Then move on to the next step and so on.

  7. This would be how a turbo works. The exhaust spins the turbine, and creates a forced air induction.

  15. Keihin. Very solid carb. Never had issues out of mine on any bike. What size are you needing? I have some polished 28mm w/cable for sale. They are the biggest you can use with stock boots.

  19. There use to be a black plastic and orange frame bike on here. It was sweet looking. Also the YFZ LE is black and orange looks nice. You can have my complete set of plastic, and that grab bar you wanted for 200. The tank and rad cover is brand new, front and rear now 100%, but decent.
