  1. need rear brake lever with spring, clip, washer, and plunger pin, radiator cap, run switch, and maybe key switch. send price with shipping to 48439 please. alson need everything involved with the clutch except cable and handle. and the shift rod also if parting engine. also thumb throttle if u have one. thanks.
  2. took lid off and runs alot better. gonna set needle back to stock setting and see how much better i can get it. plugs were dry but a lot of oil build up and black. obviously burning too rich. ill work on the jetting a little more. would it be worth gettin a power lid or just leave it off? i run in a lot of wet terrain so i dont like the idea of not having some kind of lid. maybe i can fabricate something with more air flow for it.
  3. filter was just cleaned. k&n. still have stock box with snorkal removed. not enough air flow maybe?
  4. does this through everything and at the low end of the powerband. i have fmf gold series pipes with powercore 2s timing set 4 degree advance, and thats it. everything is stock except the bore at 40 over. jets are 290 mains with 30 pilots needle set one below stock. runs rich. running 93 octane 32:1 mix. cant figure it out. if i lean out the needle it cuts out when you hit the throttle. if i richen it its a little better but not right. maybe my jets are not the right size? screw is 1 and a half turns out and thats the best it will run at that setting. idles fine but throttle response sucks. i dont think it can be the reeds and i dont have any leaks. compression is good (fresh bore also).
  5. ran at the dunes over the weekend and cant figure out whats wrong. top end is great but sputters like crazy anything before that. have 290 mains with matching needle set at center groove, 30 pilot, cleaned carbs to shine, with a 4 degree adnave in timing. runs a little rich but the mix is also a little rich. any ideas?
  6. anyone ever hear of having a 20 over bore and a 40 over bore running together? we tore into a buddies bike and thats what we found. ran great but never heard of it bein done.
  7. sounds like you clutch is out of adjustment. try at the lever and if that dont work tear into the clutch and adjust it there.
  8. i found that you can go as far as the grab bar hittin the ground and still find you way back to all fours

  10. put in 290 mains, needles from the kit forgot what size and 30 for the pilots. seems to still run funny at 1/8 to 1/4 throttle. 1 and a half turns out on pilot screw. sound about right?
  11. im running with stock jets i believe. cant tell what the markings are. it has a k&n with outerwears pre filter in the stock air box. i also run mc1 oil. plugs are showing rich but that could be the rich oil mix also. bike runs great but was thinking i should jet accordingly. i dont know what elevation im at though. i ride in mid and upper michigan if that helps.
  12. i have stock carbs, fmf pipes, stock reeds and bored 40 over. any help in jetting would be great. running br8es plugs at 24 to 1 mix.
  13. so this would tell me that my problem cant be anything ignition related. i guess i need to work on the carbs some more or something.
  14. i know the coil is good because i changed that. the plugs are new also. how does the coil know when to altenate that spark? isnt that controlled by the stator?
  15. i have changed plugs and swapped plugs but still have the same issue. im goin to look for a new stator and see what that does. i tried the coil also but still no change. this is the only thing i can think of unless the cdi is bad.
  16. is it possible for the engine to run but not fire right on one cylider if the stator is goin bad? everything but the lighting circuit ohms out within specs but i have repaired the coils. i know i could use a new one but just want to know if this could be causing the problem.
  17. also what octane is the best to run? i have always run regular pump with no problems. could premium help out?
  18. checked stator and flywheel, everything is norm. checked all wiring and removed everything tors related. nothing there. left side is the problem. running better today but still funny. seems to run richer now. the ceramic of the plug was black. new plugs no help. thinkin about drilling and tapping an idle screw into my spare carbs and trying them out. also need to rejet but dont know what to use. i have 40 over pistons with boost bottle and fmf pipes. any help on that would be great. thinkin 280 for the main. the rest i dont know.
  19. just tore into carbs and cleaned everything. a little grit but nothing looks like it would do anything to performance. set to 1 and half out and seemed to run a little better. still a little weird. great in the top end but seems to idle different and mid range is the same.
  20. i tried new plugs as soon as it happend and the old ones looked dark brown to tan on both sides. (normal to what i have experienced in this machine) and the sputtering i guess to best explain is like one cylinder misses a spark once in a while. it runs at idle but from idle to mid range is like its not sparking at at evrery interval. miore like it skips every fifth spark or so.
  21. center tube for the choke is hooked up, parking brake is removed and capped along with the tors. and the slides are in right. im thinking carbs or electrical. i dont see anywhere that sand or anything could have gotten into the carbs unless through the vent tube on the side. i changed the ignition coil and the voltage regulator with known to be working extras and checked the stator to make sure it was good. i will tear into the carbs and give them a good cleaning and see what happens from there.
  22. also have stock airbox. i noticed on the trail that one tube on the side of the carb came off so i put it back on. could something have made it in through that and pluged something? also hit a puddle pretty good just before it happend. thought maybe something got wet but everything is dry now.
  23. as far as i know i have stock jetting. i have never done anything with the carbs besides the tors removal. i blew them out pretty good but never tore into it.also i dont know what size jetting i should run if anyone would know that would be great. i have 30 over pistons and fmf gold series pipes. everything else is stock.
  24. went up on the trails this weekend. spent about 6 hours on them running great. after hittin a few good ruts and shakin thingsup, it started to sputter in a way in the low range. power band is great but everything below that is weird. idles like one cylinder is firing half of the time. changed coil, checked connections, and stator. everything looks sound but still runs weird. runing fresh rebuild with crank. all stock with fmf pipes. ran great for the whole trip then crap. any ideas?
