thanks, i was thinking of going with either a 13 for more low end, or 15 for less spin, how much will this affect my top end/low end. those 450's have alot of low end, but i can catch them on high end!

I am look ing to get an extended swingarm, what are the benefits? and how much should i extend? I do trail riding, and of course race all of the 450's that want to see if they can beat a banshee! I am kind of a puss and don't take off very well for fear of over doing it and flippin over, but i always catch and pass them if given enough distance. Will the swinger help with the banshee pulling up, or am I just being a puss?

Would like to get a +4 swinger need payment info -
You should beat most 450s with just some pipes, I also here that the vitos super stock pistons with a vitos hemi head would be a significant increase for about $500. I am ordering mine from vitos performance, I am in florida. also rockymountainatv.com, motosport.com.

I seem to be using more gas than usual lately. the only thing i have done is advance my timing +4. I noticed last time i was out that it looks like my carb overflow was leaking. my frame had dirt stuck to it where the gas was leaking out of the overflow. what would cause this, or is it normal. the shee is only 5 months old 2006.

I could wear some pants, but it is sooo hot here in florida, I was hoping to find some gaurds or something. I got a nasty burn this weekend, actualy left some melted skin on my pipes

Does any know if they make heat guards to keep me from burning the shit out of my legs when I come forward too far on my bike? I have heard of some carbon fiber ones but can't find em.

Ok, I have an 06 banshee, toomey pipes/air filter/jets fourteen tooth front gear, and power reeds. My buddy has a 97 fmf fatty pipes/coolhead/bored 30 over.... with a sixteen tooth front gear. My shee has predictable power and is easy to ride. His shee has little power at low throttle and when the power band hits it is a shock going from little to alot!! more so than mine. this is making it hard to ride because he goes from nothing to somthing without any type of transition period. what can be done to make the transition smoother through the low throttle to the power band? I thought maybe his front gear? Any help would be appreciated. He is thinking of tradeing in for a 4stroke unless he can solve this problem.

I spanked two 450r,s and a yfz 450 last weekend, all I have is a toomey t6 pipe/filter/jet kit, reeds, boost bottle and stock gearing on my 06 shee. by the way the yfz was the slowest of the bikes.

I was just wondering, when i am hauling azz down the road and get to what i think is topped out in sixth gear, it is like another power band kicks in. this doent happen all of the timw but when it does i can catch and pass anyone in front of me, this is great but wonder why it doesn't always happen, could it be wind drag not letting me get to my power band until later? any ideas?

we rode today and it idles fine, the popping and backfiring is when he is on the throttle hard, if he is easy on the throttle up to about 3/4 it doesnt break up. we did clean the carbs. -

We moved the clip down one notch which should raise the needle. It does run hot somtimes out in the sand with all of the spinning. I guess we can rais the needle some more and go to a bigger jet. is breaking up and some backfiring always a sign of running lean or could it be somthing else? -

HELP! sputtering,backfiring,mid to top?
cvbadass replied to cvbadass's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
We checked the coil, all good, we drained the gas and filled up with new and now runs better, but still breaking up. put in new plugs, and plugs look ok, old ones looked a little burnt. any other ideas on why she would be breaking up? also she doesn't smoke much at all unless first started and idled for a while, one pipe smokes more than the other, but so does my brand new 06 banshee. Need help, going to race with some 450's tomorrow, and this banshee should take them, especialy if running right. thanks for any help I can get!!! -

New info, I just found out that he has been mixing yamalube 2s instead of 2r. I know 2s is for injected motors, is it possible that could be screwing up his banshee? -

we still have the tors, unplugged though, we were told to turn them large flat head screws on top of the carb, we turned them both about half a turn to lower the throttle. the bike ran fine before we started, except for breaking up on the top end.
