i think the polish may have just fixed it. oh well. the bike is put away now for the winter. god damn snow
-
i just took mine off to try it. and yes it sounds like shes underwater. when the switch is closed ( pushed in ) she should run fine.. but im not sure about cutting the wires. i dont know anyone who has. can this be unplugged? ill take a loot at my shee and see what can be done..but im not cutting no wires
-
done the polishing up so it was just like a mirror. seemed to run perfect. but i cant really judge it yet. it happends to run fine than the next day she'll run wot again. so im going to let it sit over night and try her tomorrow. hopefully no WOT

i have the excat same pair. except i have 2.5's .. that gains 5inches. but there a christmas gift. i put them on just to make sure they fit. and i tryed to tip the bike over and it was difficult. says on the box they improve handling going around turns/racing/trail riding and flat tracking. i also have stock a-arms. but come spring ill be getting the spacers for the front end.
-
take off the wire that goes to the park brake. push in on the button with your finger. and start her up. when the park brake is on she will not rev.. just bog/sputter but will stay running. when its off ( pushed in ) she will run fine. that sounds like the problem to me. try that and let us know.

i had a similar problem. only for the last owner of my bike welded another nut into the frame. hit a jump one day and the welds around the nut broke. and the other bolt vibrated out. without knowing. so when i landed my nerfs just hit the ground with the pressure from my foot. so i rounded it out. got 2 nuts and bolts. welded them into the holes i rounded out. with good welds. so there not going to break off now. who ever welded it before looked like they only tacked it in. maybe this will help you

ill try it tomorrow. but i just had another run on her. seems to be fine again.. for so long. ill try the polish tomorrow.. im just sick of looking at the bike for one day. i called yamaha. and there service charge is 54.50 an hour. so i want to avoid that place. oh and a throttle cabled is 74 buck.. getting robbed there as far as i know and i tried the propane thing.. nothing happended. went all around the motor, no flame
-
thanks, ill try that. but did i mention that the bike runs perfect than when i let her lay up over night and start her the next morning it will go wot again? like right now she runs fine. but tomorrow if i go out and start her i bet she will go WOT again. im going to check it with propane right now and ill get back to you.
-
the fly wheel or clutch basket hasnt been touched. ever. well i give it some gas. maybe half throttle in nuetural(sp) and she will just go WOT.. hit the kill switch. pump the gas a few times and start her up and shes idleing away fine. touch the gas a to about half throttle again and WOT. how is it a frayed cable? when she goes WOT the sliders and back down to where there suppose to be at idle. but im going to try it again today. and if it happens off to yamaha for a new cable i go. oh trust me it is haha. ive made that mistake before.

found a cracked gasket between the reeds and the carb intake boots also i found that i put the wrong sliders in the wrong carbs. could that also make her go WOT? make it run like the choke was on thats for sure. but still ran.
-
okay scrap my last post. bike still goes WOT, im fuckng sick of this bullshit. ruins another ride for me. tonight im taking everything off from the reeds back top the air box to check for leaks/cracks. whats a good site to get the eliminator kit?
-
thanks for the replys guys but i think ive come across the problem.. i didnt completly unhook the tors system, last night me and my buddy looked over the bike. followed a wire up to the throttle.. hauled off the top case to take a look inside and theres that little button like thing. unhooked that and she ran fine afterwards. cables arent sticking or slides arent sticking. just a simple little thing that i didnt see. so i unhooked everything possible thing that had to do with the tors. electrical wise. as of now she runs good. no WOT anymore. well i hope not. i tryed it last night and she didnt do it. tryed it tonight and she didnt do it. so im hoping this problem is resolved. ill let you know what happends after a weekend run. this issue has already ruined 2 runs on me. no i know what you fellas mean when tors SHIT. im still looking into the removal kit just to be on the safe side of things.

pilots have been cleaned and re-cleaned. aire screws are right i think.. 2 and a half turns for the climate in newfoundland
-
TORS are unhooked, the bike idles perfect, but touch the gas and she will rev up like i have the throttle held wide open. i checked for air leaks. but none. carbs are cleaned and re-cleaned. sliders seem to be going up and down smoothly. and when she is wide open the sliders are down. umm. im pretty sure thats all shes doing. any help fellas?

ill try to get some later the week yup. this time of the year the moose are really bad, car collisions are the main concern. total deaths this year cause by a moose collision are 11 i think.. could be 12. its bad where i live, one night i was driving around a turn doing about 80kmph and out he ran onto the road. frightened the shit outta me. but managed to stop in time. and even when your biking there bad.. you dont know when there going to pop out onto the trail. hahaha, immigrants. oh man! that just made my night!  thanks guys. i really appreciate your comments. the bike is nothing compared to what some of you have. but shees getting there!

i was SO relieved when it started. that took alot off my back, after that part was done it was smooth sailing from there.. fenders fit perfect without a problem. i was surprised! id rather the black so much more than the stockers. but the blue and orange go nice together to. im thinking about shaving my blue ones and keeping my ufo's in one full peice ( for now ) next to come i think will be my tail light lens  .. few hundred spent one fenders and bars , mine as well buy the lens. than wheel spacers and black rims.. all to come next spring thanks for the comment

most of these are cell phone pictures started as this to this than this this and now she looks like this its a floresent orange,, when the light hits it.. it glows! haha. here she is completed 400 bucks later! for just the fenders and paint. oh and rad fluid came across these 2 fellas on my journey home! [/url what do you think?

im the 2nd owner of my shee, i got it off my buddy i went to grade school with for 12 years so i know the history of the bike. when i purchased it, he said the only thing he replaced in the motor were the rings on each piston. see where ever he wrecked the bike he just bought it to the yamaha dealer and got everything done by them. so he said what the heck and told them to throw in some new sets of rings. so really, they didnt even need to be changed. just done it anyway. he rolling in money so it wasnt hurting him. and my shee has pipes jetted, an a air filter. so its not that stock. just shows how long it can go before a rebuild i guess. ps: shes still running on the same pistons since 2003. hope that helps.

no problem! sry about the fuck up! i seen banshee repairs and mods so i assumed this would be the right spot i went without looking farther down the list! any mod move this? please and thank you

alright fellas/ladies its to cold for riding here in NL, canada now, so ive decided to strip my shee down to the frame and give her a new non-stock look. but i want to paint the frame a colour that will go with blue fenders and black. so if i ever decide to swtich back to my stockers i wont have to repaint the frame. ill be starting the process tomorrow. pictures will follow. im not going into any major motor work, just cosmetics. my stock motor will due with the riding i do. what i have now, new tires (stockers) pro taper bars ( 50 mm risers ) pipes ( pro circuit ) k&n air filter nerfs ( which are comming off ) t racing bumper what im really thinking about is the frame colour. black will go with the blue, but all black with the black fenders is what i dont want. i had a look at some shee's on here. yellow with the blue plastic is nice.. but i dont like with the black plastic. red with the black plastic i like alot. but witht he red and blue plastic im not to fussy on. so i said id see what some other peoples opinions are. Giv'R! AJC!

hes probably a good fella to deal with but all the fees that i will get cought with when they come across the border is what im worried about, im wondering will it be just as cheap to go to my yamaha dealer and buy a new set. or get NYUK's. anyone ever ship to canada ? if i can get a rough idea on what they would cost to get here ill be making arrangements to get them.
