Slide springs.... AKA Thumb crampers.... When you go to put them back in, cut them bitches down about 3... 3 1/2 coils... Youe thumb will appreciate it. Just make sure you have a tether on your bike!!! haha
has anyone else done this???? it sounds like a very good idea?
-
yea so I was wondering why my seat kept sliding left and right so badly, I am missing one of the front rubber things... sucks. anyone have an extra one by any chance?
-
I got mine from a kid that graduated a year before me. He was never really much of a rider and got a banshee cause his friends had one. Ill bet he rode it consistantly for 2-3 months, just to keep up with his friends then he parked it in his basement only getting it out in the past 3 years probably 4 times.
He didnt ride it like a banshee was meant to be rode and he took very good care of it. When I got it the stock tires still had the little hairs on them.
3000.00 limited black for a pretty much brand new 2004

ok. so i have my pipes off and started sanding them down. most parts work really well down to the bare metal, but along the welds, i cant get the shit off unless i press really hard which seems to be putting little indents in them.....
any secrets to how to get around this?
also, question #2:
How much would it cost on average to have them powdercoated? and do you paint or prime them before that or not?
thanks
-
haha, ok cool. I never paid attention to stuff like that.
words of chris farley: "Im retarded"
-
Ok, my bro took the banshee out in the snow and put it away wet (dont have a heated garage) and the rotor is rusted to hell.
do you guys think a brillo pad would be ok, or should I just use it and burn the rust off haha?

so far with my experience I really prefer the Razr 2's. I acutally ordered another set since i had money and my current set are on half tread!
I think the razr 1 lasts a little longer (harder tread) but that is having them on a blaster and my buddy has them on his rappy 700, neither of which of course spin like the banshee
so, my opinion is get the razr 2's, they hook up like crazy

Thanks for all the replies guys!
Here is what I ordered, I think I did pretty good:

yes, thanks for the responses guys. All tools will be used on my bike for the next couple years. Once I can afford a house and garage I'll buy a nice air compressor and much nicer tools. I just wanted the basic stuff to get the job done now. I already ordered the flywheel puller from Jeff at FAST and he told me an impact would make removal much easier.
Thanks again
-
Would this be a good compression tester?
Any one with any advice on these tool matters really help me out, cause Im only planning on using them for the banshee.
-
would this be a good impact?
i dont really wanna spend all of my mod money on the tools I need haha.
-
I need to get a torque wrench, a table vice, and a few other tools.
I dont plan on getting too mechanical with the banshee, but I would like to know what you guys suggest for a beginner.
I dont have a very large workspace, and right now only have your basic tools.(hand drill, sockets, wrenches, etc)
I have never even used a torque wrench.
Right now, my new installs will be the advanced timing plate (which I dont have an impact wrench), and tors removal.
any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

I still have stock everything except pipes. And Im still thinking real hard about getting the play/dune port from fast while I have the money. My question is (since Im still learning): Do I have to bore it out or can I use the stock pistons and everything still?
Hope thats not a super dumb question but Im still a little confused.
-
i'd say that it really depends on where and how much you ride, or more accurately, how much abuse your shee takes. just keep an eye on them and replace as needed.
hey badbrad, your sig looks like a def leppard album cover. cool.
I dont beat it as meaning (treat it like shit) but i do beat it as meaning (ride the fucker like no tomorrow)
yeah Def Lepp one of thee greatest rock bands
High n dry for life haha

thanks for the replies. Yea, I had a friend say that putting the grease fitting in really helped. I knew that this would be a yearly repair on the banshee and figured since it already feels a little sloppy (not bad but I baby this thing) I would get a heads up from people with experience
-
Hey guys, my bro just ordered FMF fatty and turbine core 2. I never messed with bikes and I just thought I'd ask for him if he needs to plan on buying a jet kit too. Its butt cold and snowy right now up here so he couldnt take it out for a WOT run. It started and idled pretty good....
-
How often do you guys replace your axle bearings? I noticed mine with a bit of play yesterday and I only rode it since last August. I know they have to take a beating though. Just curious about you guys'. I was thinking about drilling out for a grease fitting too. I dont know why Yamaha didnt put one there.
-
oh ok. i didnt know toomey did taht. i hate selling on ebay so i prob wont do that. i have no problem painting them (which is what i was gonna do anyhow)
just wanted to see out of curiosity if anyone might wanna trade
thanks for the reply banshee man
-
Not trying to be ingnorant here so no one take it that way please. I dont expect a reply but since it only takes up 2 minutes of my boring ass day ill ask.
anyone wanna trade chrome t5's for my sandblasted ones?
I was gonna paint them but thought I'd ask if anyone might wanna swap first incase they REALLY wanted theirs painted.
-
Yeah sounds like a good idea, that way we can leave the 4 stroke guys having to brush their teeth every ten minutes from all of the roost we rain on them my friend.
There are also alot of tracks up around that way too, but Ide rather do this type of riding first and plan another one for Tower City, Or Raush Creek, ect.. some places like that.
Ok. yeah, just pm me or whatever whenever you plan on this get together. I'd like to know at least 2 weeks in advance so I can make the plans and whatnot. I'll have to find a way to haul it cause I dont have a trailor yet for my jimmy.
cool
-
I could prob make it, I am from Curwensville, which is like 40 minutes from state college. I could prob bring 2 -3 ppl but they have bogus 4 strokes. and my bro on his bike, so 4 i guess. well 3 or 4.
