  2. Okay, so ever since riding my friends ltr450 I have been wanting to try 18's on the banshee, anyone else have pros and cons on them. I ride trails and only thing im worried about is that they are 2 ply and the loss of some clearance, but I have a feeling it will rip a little quicker

    opinions...

  3. to me that just sounds like the echo of the airbox lid not on... sounds fine to me, maybe, if it responds poorly lean your airscrews out, but if you put your lid back on ill bet you dont hear that deep blurp

plus, depending on your elevation and mods I would guess that your pilots may be too big, but Im not a banshee expert just trying to help cause Ive been there.

  4. Ok, so thanks for the input, but Im pretty sure it was bad gas. Now here is my explanation: when I went riding (the same day I noticed how shitty it was running) mind you, it was extremely humid out, I just discarded the problems due to that and wetness. t

wow, my power just went out!

So... I put Sta-bil in my almost empty tank and it woke right up. Man I had an awesome explanation before the f'ing power went out.

    anyway

cant remember where i was now.... turns out it was shitty gas. and on a side note, if you live in shitty little town with one gas station like me, take the time to maybe drive the extra miles to get good/reliable gas..

thanks though guys for all the input... I dont have a lot of time to work on my bike, let alone ride it.

  6. brand new reeds installed correctly, carbs are clean as a whistle (i know dirt could still be in there), no leaking antifreeze. no idea what you mean with the piston, but I would think it would affect performance everywhere if it was a piston problem?

  7. Bet on it. I have seen probably 50 bikes in over the years because they just lose power, jetting is off, etc. People clean the pre filters but do not blow air through them because it is a no no for the gauze filters. Those pre filter pores will plug up easily. Foam filtration wins hands down. I will admit the outerwears look better though...

I am using an outerwear, but I just cleaned it well, and it was only on its 2nd use. Also, it ran fine with the old one before, the filter is completely clean and it still did it when I ran with no filter at all.

  8. that is my next thing im going to check. its 93 mixed properly, but i guess there is rumors going around town about our station having shitty gas. say for example i paid for 93 but got 87, would this cause my problem? I am really hoping this is it. It dont seem like it could be anything else. I mean, i would be floored if there was dirt in my carbs because I keep it real clean and sealed up good too.

  9. this weekend I took the bike out. and it was very humid out, so I thought that and a minimally dirty air filter were my problem. I lost to a lt450r in drags and I knew something was up (mainly cause I always stomped him). well, I just discarded it all and blamed it on the humidity. now, two days later i get it out, clean it, clean the air filter, tighten the chain, etc. and take it for a spin. When I get on the gas its weak as hell. The top end acts like it has a rev limiter on it. It falls flat on its face basically through the whole rev though. The bottom and idle feel really boggy and un responsive. Now heres the specs

2004 on the stock bore and pistons (which im hoping you guys will say it prob needs rings)

    2 into 1 toomey filter,

    t5's, +4 timing

    and thats it.

Im a weekend rider and dont even go every weekend. Had the bike for almost 3 years. .. 2nd owner. anyone with any ideas?

  10. all the screws are exactly the same. I am pretty sure it is rubber tipped. Plugs look totally fine and I didnt replace anything in it. Even when its idling and I tilt it to the side it starts to bog down really bad and sometimes almost stalls. then it goes back to normal after a throttle blurp or waiting like 6 seconds. Im to the point where I think something is going bad with the float valve

  11. Its a cr125 2002. I just re-ringed it, put new boysean reeds in it and cleaned the carb well. Put it back together and it bogs if you lean it half way to the ground. Then I took the carb off and I adjusted the float level (I think I did it right). But it still does it. I cleaned the shit out of the carb several times now with carb cleaner and lots of high pressure air. Im gonna go freaking crazy if I cant get this figured out soon. Any help is appreciated

  12. even putting warrior grips on your banshee would make it suck worse than anything i can think of.

fuck warriors, and no fenders at all would be better than warrior fenders.

    lol

im kidding but really not. i just think warriors blow so hard that it makes me mad. i'd rather ride a blaster with no brakes or a fucking kawi bayou with one fucking gear....

    just hate them

    hope my ranting helps!!!!

  13. ok i got it off and i want to clean it up. there is a small, not very deep gouge at the top of the exhaust port. i got some ultra fine scotch brite pads. will this work as long as i dont do it too rough and follow the lines inside.

also, what do you guys use to clean your juggs? do you soak them in anything or what? Im having a rough time getting the grime out and off.

    any help is greatly appreciated.

  14. Okay, so im replacing the ring on a 125 cr 2002 and I for the life of me cannot get the f'ing jugg off. the back left stud seems to be hung up, maybe on the dowel pin or whatever its called. Is there a good way to attempt to get this thing off? I know I cant pound on it (hard) or pry it. anyone run into this. The head came off easily.

btw, this is the first time its ever been apart.

  15. i ride some pretty tight trails to wide open shit and i love my banshee...

im not trying to start a war but alot of people on this site make it seem impossible to ride a banshee in the woods..

up here there is no such thing as dunes... the closest thing we have would be maybe the parking area where we ride... 450 is a fun bike with plenty of power... but i find my brothers boring.... i enjoy how you need to know how to work the clutch and down shift on the banshee.... banshee isent for everyone...

maybe its cause im younger and like working more with poping the clutch and feathering it....

both bikes are good bikes.... i just enjoy "working" on the banshee better then riding the 450...

again my banshee does not have alot of mods..

pipes air filter a arms and rear axle..

i do have other mods... but those were the big difference makers..

I AGREE WITH THIS ONE! about trails and shifting... sorry for the wrong above post

  16. I have both aswell, If i where to sell one of them it would be the YFZ

Dont get me wrong, the yfz is def a fun bike to ride, good torque/power handles great etc but for me the banshee is where its at.

You have to think about which bike is going to suite you better, and then go from there.

If you are looking to get into mx and gncc, I think you are in the right direction looking for a YFZ, but if you can swing it and keep both, I say do it, dont sell the banshee.

Man I agree with this soooo much.

    damn it wrong quote
